CHEM I Question. Need a solution plz to find the mass of an electron?
Imagine an alternate reality where the Thomson cathode ray experiments arrived at an electron charge to mass ratio of 6.63×105 C/g. During the Milikan oil drop experiment, a series of droplets had excess charges of 2.19×10-19 C, 2.92×10-19 C and 4.38×10-19 C. What could be the mass of an electron?
The answer is 1.10×10-25 grams.
