  • Bleeding for a long time after a D&C? Doctors stumped?

Every since my D&C on May 2nd of this year I have had no more than a day or two gap in bleeding. The flow is so heavy. I have called my doctor many a time and been threw so many tests.

The first ultra sound 2 weeks post op showed a 4mm lining but according to the doc no cause for alarm. Next ultrasound a month later showed a thinner lining. They have changed birth control on me 3 times and insist that the problem is not unheard of and they do believe me but I can either keep waiting it out or get a fourth...that's right fourth opinion.

I can easily go threw 3 boxes of super tampons in 4 days and have done it more than once. I am trying to see if anyone had this problem and what was done. I am tired of being poked and prodded and getting no answers. I want the bleeding to stop and have been taking hormonal birth control pills (which I am completely against) with no luck or relief for two months.

August 2nd will be 3 months since my D&C. Blood ranges in color from deep maroon red, to neon orange, to pink, never brown unless spotting lightly on the off days. And can range from light spotting to gushing flows and passing large blood clots. (One the size of a kiwi) I am trying to find answers. Doctors are just shaking their heads.

Surgeon says internal ultrasound normal. HCG normal. Blood pressure and other things normal. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I need my life back. Thank you.

  • Issues after a D&C? Anyone else had this issue and what was it?

So here's the deal. After my D&C I had only a few drops of blood over 12 hours and then nothing for almost a week. Thursday night while watching a movie on my couch I got a few sharp cramps and gushed blood so fast that I bled threw my underwear, my shorts, the blanket and into the couch. Several clots were involved and it would have been more than enough to fill a pad. Crawled to the bathroom and passed a clot that was about the size of a Kiwi fruit. This happened all in less than 10 minutes. Got myself cleaned up in the shower and the bleeding stopped so I saw no need to go to the ER to be sent home for not still bleeding.

Then I had not another drop of blood til this afternoon. I was walking around outside and all of a sudden a cramp and a huge gush and it just kept coming. I wasn't any where near home and was with a friend with my kids so the hospital wasn't an option. I got home while sitting on a garbage bag and got cleaned up again. No huge clots this time but some about the size of a dime. 30 minutes later (this time I had a pad on) it happened again was bleeding too fast for the pad to even absorb so ofcourse another outfit ruined. Then not a single drop once I got cleaned up. Four hours later it happened again. Started while I was sitting and kept going while I was walking upstairs. I am getting horrible rashes from the pads. Can't go to hospital cuz no one can watch my kids and I have no transportation. Anyone have this happen? Know what may be going on?

  • When traveling with someone who cannot read properly or write properly is it ok to fill out their paper work?

Next year I will be traveling out of the country with a group of people. One cannot read or write. Legally this man is my husband, but we are separated (not by the court). He is unfortunately completely illiterate. I fill out all documents or things for him here at home and he just signs them.

My question is will there be any issue if I fill out any paper work along our travels for him as long as he still signs?? Examples being customs and such paper work for the air port. I have never flown so don't know all that it may require and I am trying to get a head start on things.

If it helps I will be 25 when the trip occurs and he will be 32. I know he should be able to read and write and I have tried to teach him but he was simply passed in school because he was on the football team. The school system in his area is to blame. He also has trouble with fluent speaking, it is mostly with pronouncing words or using a word that doesn't fit for the purpose or definition he needs. We have been together long enough that I know what he means but few other people do. We are from the US and I am afraid traveling out of country we will encounter some issues so I am trying to plan ahead.

I am doing all of his packing for him. I have tried to explain the rules and guidelines of flying and he didn't seem to understand all of it and he thought that with the liquids limit he couldn't take his shampoo. As we all know it just has to be put in smaller containers.

  • Normal for bleeding to stop 24 hours after a D&C? Paper work says abortion and missed abortion.?

I had a D&C yesterday and had very little bleeding yesterday and very little bleeding this morning and now nothing. No discharge or anything. Is this normal? I hate to bug the doctor on call if it is perfectly normal. I have been having an occasional bad cramp or two.

They listed the procedure as a medical abortion on the paper work that I signed. I don't know if that makes a difference or not but my baby died about 10 weeks before the D&C and was only 8 weeks and 6 days with no heart beat. I don't know if how they wrote it on the paper has anything to do with the difference in healing or not so I figured I would mention it.

Any advise would be appreciated since I have never been threw a D&C before. However the abortion critics please don't use this to start an abortion rant as I didn't technically have one. It was just what the doctor put on the paper work because he said it was medically correct for my insurance when I questioned him about it. All my paper work says missed abortion as the death diagnosis but it was not the case. I thought I had a perfectly healthy 17 week baby until my ultra sound.

  • WHAT CAN I EXPECT FOR A D&C?

I have never had to have one until now and no one has explained anything about it and I don't know anyone who has had one to ask them. I want to know all that is going to go on before I agree to it. I also want to know what to expect afterward. Are you back to normal same day?

  • Lost my little darling at 9 weeks but still hasn't miscarried at 17 weeks?

As of today I am roughly 17 weeks and two days. I keep trying to get answers and just don't seem to be getting them. My little bean had no heart beat at ultra sound on Thursday. So what I need to know is there anything I can do at home to miscarry without medication or a surgery. I'm already upset enough. I am including details that everyone seems to keep asking for instead of actually answering. My blood type is A+. There was no heart beat at ultra sound. They are certain of my pregnancy in weeks. There is a baby in there cuz they sent me home with a picture of it but they claim it is no longer living and has been that way for the last 9-10 weeks. (I am really hoping they are wrong because stranger things have happened, but everyone has pretty much assured me they are right.)

So this is a multi-part question since I have asked and still don't seem to have gotten answers that help:

    1. Is there any thing that can be done at home to help the miscarriage process?

    2. What will they do with my little peanut if they surgically remove him/her?

    3. If I must have surgery what will they do? ( I have no clue how they would do it, if they would put me to sleep or how they get the baby out)

I don't know anyone who has been threw this and really don't even think I know anyone personally who ever miscarried.

  • Fetal Demise aiding in naturally miscarrying at home?

I posted yesterday the horrible details of my trip to the doctor only to find out that after 17 weeks of pregnancy my baby stopped growing at 8 weeks and 6 days but has still decided to call my body home. I am devastated.

I am supposed to go back in a week or two for a "conformation of death" and then I would rather do something to make my body do what it should have done in the first place. I feel in my heart that the doctor is wrong but just incase they are right is there any ways to take care of this at home instead of surgery and medication.

I have been threw enough already and don't want the hecklers at the local abortion clinic where I would have a D&C to yell at me that I'm a baby killer. It's just not something that I can take right now and I don't know anyone who ever had this problem to talk to them. I actually do not personally know any one who ever miscarried.

Is there something I can try to keep this more private and less stressful? Also, on a side note the baby's father wants to know what they will do with the baby? This is our baby and we really got used to the idea of it being our third and final child.

  • Miscarriage questions?? 17 weeks pregnant baby measure 8 wks & 6 days?

So today I was devastated. Went to my OB to finally get my Ultra sound at 17 weeks after waiting forever. Only to have the tech give me a picture a 9 week old cutie. I was like "oh that doesn't add up." She was all happy go lucky and sent me over to the office. I was mad because I was like how is the baby still so small.

Then they called me into the office and a nurse midwife's exact words were "it's never easy to say this" and I stopped her and told her she was lying. She said there was no heart beat and baby stopped growing at 8 weeks and 6 days. Urine test showed exact with dating at a little over 17 weeks. So she said as far as she can tell the baby died nearly 10 weeks ago.

It doesn't add up. I feel movement. I have a big old round belly and others feel movement. She said to think it over and call her in a week when I am less stressed and have thought about it. I don't know why they waited so long to do an ultra sound when I was having issues, but they weren't issues I hadn't had with prior pregnancies.

So my question is could they be wrong? And if they are not wrong how long til this horrible thing is over? I had just gotten used to the idea of the new baby coming. Shouldn't my body after this long have taken care of it if it's truly gone? And shouldn't the tech have been more sensible than to send me home with a picture of my "no longer living" baby? I guess I am just so shocked I don't know what to think. Can't sleep and been crying for hours on end.

  • Would it be legal to break my lease based on safety and occupancy?

I currently rent a 2 bedroom apartment in pa(bathroom, livingroom, kitchen, and bedrooms.) Total square footage is maybe 500 if I am lucky (it is small.) My girls currently share a room that is 8x10 and so there is just enough room for their beds and not even a dresser.

I found out I was pregnant not too long ago and have so far tried to get rid of a ton of stuff and rearrange, but I cannot see 5 people fitting in here or for it to even be safe. Really simply in order to get a crib in here I would have to put it in my bedroom which already has 6 small dressers one already blocking the electric heat and my bed in it and I would have to add one more dresser.

Thanks to a poor floor lay out once my living room furniture is in it the girls have about a 6x6 area for play so things are tight as it is and my kitchen is this very odd L shape that only allows for a small table and 4 chairs around it then you are still squeezing threw. I live here because it is close to my partners work and it was affordable.

The safety issue I see most is that there are two non-secured ways to get into my apartment. A broken back door lock, landlord replaced but it still hasn't locked since I moved in. But the most concerning is the window in my daughter's room doesn't lock at all or shut completely as there is a small gap under it.

My question is do I have any grounds to break my lease?? It is up in January (even though I lived here since Oct)but the baby will be here mid Sept. early Oct.

  • Anyone know of a website that you can choose options and it tells you the best all-inclusive resort based?

on that specific set of options?? Plain and simple. Next year we are planning on going to the Dominican Republic. I cannot seem to choose from the many resorts. I have been threw them all a million times getting prices and I specifically want all inclusive.

So is there a web site where i can punch in all of my wants and figure out which one I am going to chose??

I want to be able to select adult only, all inclusive, room service or concierge, swim up or honey moon room, price between, excursions included in packages, ect. without searching threw every resort on the pages. I know I will be booking with a certain site just need to find out which to book.

Any help is much appreciated. Or even a recommendation of a resort and why you recommend it that fits some of the things i mentioned above.

  • Pregnancy morning sickness consist of something other than vomitting?

Upon reading the title I realized I picked a pretty dumb way of wording it but here goes...

I am currently some where between 15 and 20 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. (Ultra sound on the 24th to get exact date) The only office visit the doctors have done so far is what they call an intake where they did absolutely nothing except for hound me about my depression and such. No exams, no good answers for my questions and no actual due date other than literally a paper with a date and two question marks after it to show my insurance company.

With my first I had hyper emisis and was just throwing up the whole time so no morning sickness really. Then with the second I would only throw up in the car (more of a motion sickness).

Now with this third darling I am having an issue where I get hot and sweaty at night and between about the hours of 10pm and 2 am I have diarrhea (sorry for the TMI) which consists of 4-6 large runny BM's. In the mornings and during the day a few times i will dry heave but never throw up (maybe 4 times this whole pregnancy.)

So my question is...IS THIS JUST ANOTHER FORM OF MORNING SICKNESS??? Is there any way to get the doctor to listen to me?? My doctor has been less than helpful and the nurses are mad that I didn't know I was pregnant sooner, but I got my period in almost all months except for one so how was I to know? I asked for a different provider for my nurse midwife but need to keep this doctor because of the hospital I need to deliver at.

  • Can you take supplements to grow your hair and nails while pregnant?

I was in a car accident a little over a year ago. My hair ended up getting damaged, mostly ripped out so I had to get it cut really short to give it time to match up but it is growing at a snails pace now. I was going to take the supplement for hair and nails but I found out I am pregnant. So I am wondering if anyone knows if this is safe to take while pregnant?

  • Friday the 13th wedding...re-asking hoping for answers and no harassment?

Our wedding theme is a friday the 13th...til death do us part kind of thing. The ceremony itself we were thinking it would be cool to have in a grave yard, asylum, and /or other place similar but only for the ceremony and then a location with ceilings around 10 feet tall in Pennsylvania (central pennsylvania). NO PREACHER!! Neither location being very far from the other. Budget is tight but not too tight. All suggestions welcome. I know some may think we are morbid, but really over the years bad luck is our best luck.

*reception 10 foot tall ceilings...already have a caterer in mind.

Or maybe a funeral home that isn't incredibly religious or apposed to such a thing.

And all guests and family 80 people have been warned about our "fright night & death" like themes. we understand some may not come but that it up to them. We are expressing versions of us. It is a fall wedding and really its mostly just friends our age who are into what we are into.

My wedding is not religious. I am not immature. Was married before and followed the "guidelines" was board and it wasn't my own. Your insults and calling me sick are not welcome. I know what mental illness is. I have one. I was simply asking if anyone knew of a place that would allow this.

  • If I am buying a kit to turn a zipper gown into a lace up back, can I order the dress a size smaller?

I am buying a dress online for my wedding and it is beautiful!! My exact measurements would put me in a size 6 comfortably. The closer in the back is zipper. The company offers a kit that you can do yourself to make the closure a lace up and claims it makes too small dresses fit perfect. So my question that I can't seem to make the company understand is I want the laces to show full and so i need to know if i can order the size smaller and it still fit right with the new closure.
