I'm Karl and I'm smack dab in the middle of an Amish community in Northern Michigan. I'm a history major and I'm interested in politics and many other social issues. I'm also a musician (guitar,bass) and have quite a bit of expertise in that area, especially relating to those instruments and music in general specifically rock and metal.
Opinions on a Non-Jew pursuing a Jewish Studies Specialization?
I'm a history major at at Michigan State University and want to be a teacher. I plan to teach high school at first (probably Spanish, it's my minor) but I want to eventually teach at a community college. I've always been interested in Jewish history and Judaism and a number of my professors have suggested that I pursue a specialization or change my major . I have generally replied that it in a perfect world I would, but that I need to be able to find a job and since i'm not Jewish that would become an issue. What do you think, oh wise dwellers of Yahoo answers?
