Camrie

It is a young adult novel that came out probably within the last 6 or 7 years. It's about a teenager who is in juvenile detention accused of killing her baby. The baby was found in a trashcan, and she couldn't remember what happened. I believe she develops a bond with her lawyer. I think it starts with an "A".

And who is it by?

All I can remember is that I read it probably in the 5th grade (not for school, but on my own) and some of the plot.

I think there was one or two young boys (or maybe a brother and sister?) and their dad. They went on a river rafting trip and at one point the dad got bit by a snake and they kids had to carry the raft somewhere to get help.

It seems like the title had something to do with white water rafting or river rafting or something like that.

Also, I think on the cover of the version I read there was a river and a raft being tossed around by it.
