  • Aren't you fed up with Zidane and Materazzi?

Why don't we go to see 'Superman', or watch 'Lost' on TV and leave that two men to themselves. The FIFA is making an investigation so why all the fuss.

Don't you know that these football players all earn AT LEAST an income of 100,000US$ per WEEK excluding bonus and advertisement contracts. They can afford a 5000 US$ -5-star-hotel suite, own luxurious yacht, houses in Spain, Italy and France, beautiful wives and mistresses and here we are, fighting like mad dogs and cats, throwing insults and calling each other, become country-haters for them.

I don't know about you, but I am leaving and get a life somewhere.

  • Is Meterazzi kidding?

    BBC Sport:

<<< Materazzi himself has not spoken publicly about the incident except to deny a claim by Paris-based anti-racism group SOS Racism, made on Monday, that he had called Zidane "a dirty terrorist".

"It is absolutely not true, I did not call him a terrorist. I'm ignorant. I don't even know what the word means," the Italian news agency Ansa quoted Materazzi as saying after the Italian team returned to Rome. >>>

Frankly, do you believe that, Meterazzi, a man of 33, and a father of a 10 yr-old daughter, actually said that he didn't even know what the word 'terrorist' mean!!??

Either he is a liar, or he is a dunce.

  • Want to know what Meterazzi said to Zidane ?

BBC Radio Five Live asked for help from a deaf lip reader, Jessica Rees, who read the words phonetically to an Italian translator.

She deciphered the insult as being "you're the son of a terrorist whore" - a translation also carried by many national newspapers in Britain on Tuesday.

  • What'd you do if you were Zidane?

Zidane was insulted by Materazzi (I heard from the radio that the Italian football player insulted Z's mother). What would you do if some jerk said that to you???!!!

Zidane knew very well that he was being filmed by a dozen of cameras and if he did that, the insult must be really mean and nasty.

If I were Zidane, I would FINISH the match, and then punched the sh** out of Meterazzi.

And why NOBODY talks about Meterazzi as if he was innocent????

  • Why, only in the FINAL, the referee used video .....?

I don't understand why, only in the FINAL, the referee used video to give out the red card? Figo did the same, the world saw the video 'live' but he wasn't punished?

France played very well in the second half and they lost because they were unlucky.

  • Did anyone see Meterazzi pinched Zidane's nipple?

I read from another forum that the Italian Materazzi appeared to pinch and twist Zidannes nipple as he let go of him in the penalty area, Zidannes first reaction was shock and when he realised what had happened I think he lost his temper. Watch the replay carefully he twisted his hand as he let go.

  • Do the WC brings out the best of us, or the worst?

I'm sure that most of us have been cheering, jumping, laughing, crying and cursing in joy or in frustration throughout the World Cup. The WC galvanizes our patriotism but at the same time, provokes our 'dislike', or even 'hatred' of our opponents. What's your opinions?

Personally, I have experience both of the above sentiments. Of course, when the WC is finished, I hope that we remember the joy the players have brought us and forget our differences.

45 minutes to go and it will be the FINAL. I am already missing the World Cup. We won't be seeing Figo, Zidane, Oliver Khan, Thuram etc etc etc. :-(

I don't understand why there isn't the 'golden ball' anymore? I think it was much better.

  • Why most good players are #10 ??

I've noticed that most excellent soccer players are number 10 in their teams. Is there a significance in this 'magic' number?
