Why do teachers get to skip the line for vaccines? They were among the first to work from home.?
Healthcare workers were the first to get vaccinated, but you can't have healthcare at all without power and water. I have a co-worker who lost his mom and dad to Covid-19. So teachers want to jump the line. Not fair.
20 AnswersLaw & Ethics4 weeks agoCovid-19, should critical workers be segmented away from the general population instead of at risk people?
The focus during the pandemic was allowing seniors to buy groceries at a special time, since they are an at risk group. The problem with this logic is that some seniors may still work at places with a high probability of virus spread. These seniors may also have a robust immune system. Imagine a person immune to many diseases because they face a constant exposure to mild diseases. They are grouped by age with people who have compromised immune systems when a deadly disease comers around.
My idea is that people who are likely to spread disease should get to buy groceries separate from the general population, to create an effective buffer than prevents the spread of deadly disease.
3 AnswersPolitics4 weeks agoWhy don't we use antibody testing in conjunction with vaccines?
Our goal is to build herd immunity. If you test positive for antibodies, then you should move to a latter vaccine tier. For instance. If you are a medical worker that has antibodies already. Then you might get vaccinated later with a lower risk group. Or. If you tested positive for covid-19 currently or in the past 6 months and had no major symptoms, you might be moved to get vaccinated with a lower risk group.
We should also consider interactions. If you can avoid interacting with people, then you should not be a high priority to vaccinate. With the stipulation that you would be assisted in helping limit interactions.
3 AnswersMedicine2 months agoThank You Trump For Playing the Bad Guy, Black Lives Matter, Everyone believes it now. Hate for the Bad Guy Woke Everyone Up.?
I want to thank Donald Trump for having the vision to play the bad guy, while at the same time visiting communities that struggled with fears that the future might bring. Trump exposed the partisanship of the media and the effect that it had on people. He showed us how clueless the people writing laws at the national level were. We expect them to protect us, but with all the resources of our government at their disposal, they are not competent to protect themselves!
2 AnswersSociology2 months agoShould news organizations that have a political bias be barred from the White House and Halls of Congress?
News organizations have become more political in recent years. They don't report unbiased news anymore. They are free to report whatever they want but they are not entitled to access Congress or The White House.
I believe a committee of equal number Republicans and Democrats should evaluate news organizations and journalists for political bias for the purpose of banning them from government property.
7 AnswersPolitics2 months agoHas the partisan media and the bitter national political party dialogues helped create the problem of conspiracy theories?
NBC and other networks have reported on Republican topics and politicians with noticeable contempt. Fox News has Reported on Democrat topics and politicians with noticeable contempt. The strong bias of the U.S. media has made people not trust the news. Click Bait Media has exacerbated the problem.
1 AnswerPolitics2 months agoShould plastics that end up in the environment be standardized to one type, to simplify collection and recycling?
People want to outlaw straws and other plastics, but the real problem is that having different plastics makes recycling prohibitively expensive. If everything that ended up in the ocean was made of the same type of plastic it would be easy to recycle and more likely to be profitable to collect.
1 AnswerGreen Living3 months agoDonald Trump, If Trump partnered with independent investors on new restaurants in cities ravaged by Covid-19, would he have the last laugh ?
New York City and New York State has seen restaurants and other venues destroyed by lock downs. If Trump was able to leverage his cult-like following to create a network of Trump Branded restaurants and entertainment venues throughout areas that were heavy handed with locking down the economy, would he be able to expand his economic and political influence exponentially and have the last laugh?
2 AnswersPolitics4 months agoNancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are the Trumps of the Democratic Party, why are they the leaders?
Trump is loud and out to irritate the other side. Biden pins himself as a uniting influence. Pelosi and Schumer might as well have Trump as a last name, because they have fallen into petty bickering. Why are the leaders of the Democrats? The Democrats have an opportunity and they waste it by getting behind two people that are frankly annoying and partisan.
6 AnswersPolitics5 months agoShould the morning after pill be free to all women as well as pregnancy and ovulation tests.?
The idea behind this post is that both side try to work towards a goal that improves existing realities. Not two sides unbudgingly pushing limited choices,
I think democrats and republicans don't want an abortion that is anywhere near late term. It seems that preventing an unwanted pregnancy is the goal, so ovulation tests for all women might help with this. Whereas pregnancy tests can help women identify as early as possible the time when they might want to use a morning after pill. Maybe even DNA tests for birth defects. With clear cut knowledge women have the knowledge to make better decisions.
Imagine a woman finding out her child is healthy and has nothing wrong with it, even though she might question her ability to guarantee it's success.

4 AnswersLaw & Ethics5 months agoIs it a free country if you cannot say what you want, go where you want, when you want, eat what you want, choose to cover your face or not?
This is the United States of America, not the Soviet Union or the Communist Republic of China. I hate that Covid-19 happened. I feel compassion for the people that died.
At the same time, the media has cashed in on our fear. They have jobs where they can hide. Some of us have no choice but to go out in the world, because we have to.
Is this a free country? Are NBC and CNN the National Broadcast of Communism and the Communist News Network?
6 AnswersPolitics5 months agoIs representative government a hinderance to progress?
Voting for Senators, Representatives, and Presidents dates back to the horse and buggy days. People had to travel by horse to the capital and argue issues for the good of their represented peoples.
We live in a modern time with electronic communication. We can harness the knowledge of specialized experts in different areas of the economy, science, law, and culture. We can act as a superorganism in the governance and future of this nation.

It is nice to drive cars and fly on planes. Air-conditioning is great too. Is it possible that if we are terraforming the planet in a bad way, then the opposite scenario must be possible?
If you think of oil and coal as really old carbon cycle based batteries, then the problem is that we have to balance the other side of the cycle to use them or negate their effects, that is to say recharge the carbon cycle or supercharger it!
