Can my Employer (Union Facility) deny my request to extend my last day four days later than I stated, when I stated it a month in advance?
This is a union facility in Sheboygan, WI, mind you. I gave my manager a notice on August 4th that my last day will be September 1st. However, as of August 8th, I decided it is much better for myself to stay until September 5th.
Considering the amount of time before the initial end date that still looms, and how quickly I took action in repealing my action, do I have the RIGHT to have my notice repealed from September 1st to September 5th?
Thank you for any and all help.
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics5 years agoWhat is wrong with my succulent and how do I go about fixing it/preventing this again?
My succulent (a small bulbous cactus about 6 inches high) is appearing darker in color and shrinking.
This has happened after a white material has started to cover it in blotches. It appears to be mold, but I'm not positive. What is the best way to go about this?
Yahoo won't let me post pictures...
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape5 years agoHow should I balance work and school for optimal help through financial aid?
Here are some general facts about me to help:
I am 21 currently, 22 in August.
Last year I made $34,000, and I will only make more as the years go on.
My single mother makes right around that same amount.
I planned on going to school full time and working a lot (I've already worked and gone to school fulltime one semester), but if financial aid is given based off of need, why would I do that?
It's like the dilemma that one hits amid socialism.
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)5 years agoWhat vehicle do you believe (utilizing knowledge & empirical experience) best suits my needs/wants?
I am a 21 year old male who is saving up for a bit of traveling throughout the U.S. in the near future, with plans to return to school after that stint of, lets assume, half a year.
My wants for a vehicle:
-Reliability & Practicality: A vehicle with a positive track record that holds up over time, with very little maintenance. I plan on driving through mountains so that is also something that must be considered.
-High MPG: If I will be using this to travel, it would be nice to get AT LEAST 25 mpg.
-An initial cost ~$10,000: I'm making a commitment, but I don't want it to make it that deep of a cut into my finances.
-Space: so that I may have independence in terms of misc. storage on the road, moving things, and potentially sleeping on the road if I ever need to.
-Features including: AWD/4WD (for rough terrain/steep climbs) and a roof rack (for storage--possibly synonymous with inner space, pushing me to choose a smaller vehicle).
Thank you for any help! This is a big decision for myself.
2 AnswersBuying & Selling5 years agoI'm going car shopping [at dealerships] tomorrow; Do you have any tips for me?
I have always had "up-front" purchases with private sellers when it comes to cars, however, tomorrow
I am going to look for a used car in the sweet spot of $10,000 that follows a certain list of expectations.
Any help with empirical tips would be much appreciated!
17 AnswersBuying & Selling5 years agoWhat equipment do I need to conduct outside interviews?
*Please include all equipment (I'm new to audio/visual recording) : camera, cables, mic flags, etc.
I am going to produce a series on YouTube which consists of going out and objectively questioning people on topics ranging from: marijuana legislation, conscious consumerism, taxes, etc.
A sort of modern day Socratic figure.
If you could please help me figure out the necessary tools needed to deliver a high-quality series in order to stir thoughts and enlighten people I would be forever thankful!
P.S. I'm hoping to travel light with a small camera, (do not have one yet), a small microphone (needed for crisp audio quality), and a picket sign (to grab people's attention).
Thank you,
Namaste.
1 AnswerMedia & Journalism7 years agoWhere are you folks currently standing on the issue of the legalization of marijuana?
Please use reputable facts in your response.
Let's see what the majority of the Yahoo Answers community thinks.
2 AnswersCurrent Events7 years agoWhat should I expect from being apprehended with marijuana and these supposed infractions against myself?
First off, here is a link to a newsletter which describes the incident that occurred.
http://royalpurplenews.com/?p=9461
The evidence that was confiscated consisted of: four individually bagged ounces (of course I needed to gauge my personal consumption somehow), a digital scale (of course I need to know that I'm getting what I may have purchased), and a glass piece with marijuana residue (of course I needed something to toke with).
I did talk a bit, even though I knew my damn rights. However, I just had getting my ******* finals done on my mind-what a stupid short term decision-I know. I don't even remember what I said though, I have pushed the majority of those memories from that time period out of my mind.
The campus officer stated that they came to my room because there was a picture taken of my car leaving a drug deal? I have no clue how that would have happened, but that's what I was told.
All in all, I have intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and paraphernalia charges pending against me.
Background info on myself:
-This was my very first charge for anything, ever.
-I have had straight A's and B's, with VERY seldom C's my whole school career.
-The time that this happened was at the end of my FIRST semester of college, which I also made the Dean's list in at a 3.692 GPA.
-I have worked ever since 16, and been regarded as a very good and reliable worker.
-People know me as a very easy going, innocent, mannerly, and focused individual.
My recently placed signature bond is $10,000.00! (This happened the most recent Friday of this month-the actual infractions happened 12/10/12)
Isn't that implying that they really see me as a threat??
This whole situation is so surreal to me. I've never been one to get in trouble, and I always have had wholesome intentions with everything I've done. I only used marijuana because I researched it in school and came to the conclusion that it was illegal for amoral reasons which benefit private interests. So I never ever felt like a criminal, or even a bad person for casual enjoying a smoke privately. Now things have obviously changed and I keep my distance from all illicit activities-I have to, I have no choice.
I will be retrieving letters of recommendation, an alcohol and drug assessment, both jobs' pay stubs, documentation of about 60 volunteer hours worked, and a receipt from a leadership seminar which I attended after the incident and between these current times.
Thank you for any input.
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics7 years agoWhat should I expect after being involved in a college campus marijuana bust?
First, here is a little backstory...
I was attending UW-Whitewater during the previous fall semester. Near the end of the semester one morning the cops knocked on my dorm room door and my roommate let them in. They said they were looking for me(Later in questioning they said they saw my car leaving a drug deal?).
They said they knew I had marijuana and to give it to them.
YES, I was an idiot, but I just wanted it to be done and over with.
So, I gave them 4 SEPARATE oz's of marijuana in one tupperware, along with a used pipe and scale with 3 very little empty bags. --This was the raw evidence.
Following this, the police brought the others involved in this "bust" and myself to the campus holding area and asked us questions.
Yes, once again I was an idiot and talked.
I said something along the lines of, "yes I do give marijuana to friends," SO STUPID!
This was Dec. 11th, about 7th months prior to now, no legal actions have occurred since then; I was only dealt with through the university, as I was kicked out, and have not had any contact with the affected county.
I have a 5k lawyer, and he has talked to the local D.A., claiming he's retaining me, yet nothing is said to have happened with my case or profile.
I am just an aspiring entrepreneur trying to move on with my life, as this just happened my freshman year of college. I've never had any previous charges, or any trouble in my past for that matter: in fact that semester of college I made the Dean's List with a 3.692 while also receiving an A on each one of my finals(Even when I got "busted" the week prior to finals-talk about stress!).
So, I am wondering what do people think is most likely to follow this?
Thanks for any advice.
