Jane Jones (nee) Smith, what does the (nee) stand for? Is it an abbreviation for something? Where did it originate from?

I'm not sure what to do. I am 30 and I have been with my partner for nearly 4 years and we are planning to be married. I love my partner so much but I rarely get to see my dad and my brothers and I miss them so much. They live interstate and I'd like to move to be closer to my family. My dad isn't very well health wise and I'd like to spend more time with him. I have brought it up with my partner before but he didn't really say anything. My partner has always had his family near him but I want to live closer to mine. What can I say to convince my partner to move interstate? I feel so sad over this. Any advice you give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you ;)

year so far and why?

Mine is 1985. Even though I was only 8 yrs old I have fond memories of that year. Going to the cinemas and seeing Back to the Future (one of my favourite movies), The Goonies, The Never Ending Story, to name a few. Some of my favourite songs came from that year. I got my first Cabbage Patch doll. I enjoyed being in grade 3. Also my little brother was born.

Do you think it is a last stitch attempt that

John Howard wants a referendum on 'Naming Aboriginals the first Australians'? Considering that he has never shown interest in Aboriginal issues after 11 yrs in power until that recent debarcle in the Northern Territory.

He is drawing out calling an election and then suddenly this new issue of naming Aboriginals the first Australians pops up. I personally don't need to vote in a referendum to acknowledge this. Aboriginals were the first Australians.

Do you feel like I do and think John Howard is just trying to grab last minute votes by this?

How did you feel about turning 30?

It's my birthday today and I'm 30. Personally, turning 30 for me so far is no big deal (although, I can't believe how fast the years have gone!). For people turning 30 how do you feel about it? People who have yet to get to 30, how do you think you will feel? When one of my aunties turned 30, she cried! Other people I know when they turned 30 were very proud of 'reaching a milestone' in their lives. Can you tell me your feelings? Thanks.

I am a bisexual woman who is and has been in the same monogamous relationship for 3 yrs. I never cheat on my partner, nor have I ever wanted too. I feel totally attracted to both men and women (this includes transgendered people) equally and have dated as well as had relationships with women and men and each relationship, I have remained monogamous. I have in the past been rejected by some people both lesbians and straight men when they find that I am bisexual because they think that I wouldn't be monogamous. Even when I told them I don't cheat, I wasn't believed. So basically those people believed all of the stereotypes about bisexuals.

My questions are, firstly, do you think a lot of people in the gay and lesbian community still feel this way? Secondly, if any other bisexual monogamous people have experienced this?

I love that the GLBT community is so diverse but sometimes I get the feeling that bisexuals aren't always 100% accepted. Thanks.

When you think of Australia and Australians what do you think of? What comes to mind?

I haven't had a smoke for 2 days. I just want to know if any of you found it easy or tough to quit? So far I'm good and not many cravings I hope it stays that way! How long will it take to notice the benefits of quitting? Thanks.

I am secretly terrified of giving birth! How can I get over this feeling? It scares me too death. Yet I can't wait to be a parent. Any tips from mothers who were also frightened of child birth would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
