  • Is it possible to change the background color automatically in Windows XP?

I want to know if its possible to change the background colour automatically in Windows XP on the Desktop screen, like one of those ambient, colour changing LED mood lights? Mood lights cycle through the colours of the rainbow slowly, creating a soothing effect.

If its only possible with software, then can anyone recommend a software program that can do this? I think it would be a cool program to have and something different. If its only possible using a screen-saver, then that's ok.

Did do a search in Google, but nothing helpful came up.

    Cheers in advance!

  • Is it possible to alter the postage and packing after an item has ended on eBay?

Is it possible to alter the postage and packing after an item has ended on eBay, either as a Buyer or Seller? I emailed this guy who was listing something I wanted and I offered him a total amount (including postage - I made that clear) that I knew it was worth, if he ended the listing and put it as a Buy It Now. He accepted and I won the item, but the total is more than the total I offered (by about £10) and he said he will alter the postage by this weekend. He's only got courier listed at £10 and he said to me not to pay yet until he has worked out the postage, which is fair enough.

How exactly does he do this? I've sold things before on eBay (admittedly a year ago at least) and not seen any option that would allow me to alter the postage. This guy has got a good, high feedback score and only accepts payment by Paypal, so if it all goes wrong I can always claim back my money through payment protection as normal. Not that I think he's going to do anything, but you never know do you?

Any help or advice on this matter would be appreciated, thank you in advance.

  • Where can I get a cheap external aerial for my Huawei E160G 3G modem?

I recently bought my Huawei E160G 3G USB modem on the Three network and the signal hasn't been too good, only a maximum of 3 bars out of a maximum of about 8 signal bars. As a result pages take ages to load and send.

However I have noticed on the side of the modem there is a connector under a plastic flap (next to the Micro-SD card slot) for an external aerial/antenna. The manual doesn't say anything about this and I have emailed both Three & Huawei about this connector, but had no response yet. I have also looked on Ebay, but since I don't know what sort of connector it has, I can't buy an aerial yet.

I only really want to use this at home, even though its portable (as I don't currently have a land line in my flat) and its connected to my desktop PC. I don't have a laptop.

Does anyone know where I can get a compatible aerial for this modem, so that I can boost my signal further? Has anyone figured out what connector this modem has or found the right aerial?

  • When Deanna Troi speaks what accent is Marina Sirtis is trying to do?

As far as I know this hasn't been asked, but its always bugged me. I know in real life she has (or did have) a posh english accent, but why did she choose that particular way of speaking and where is she supposed to be from? Nobody else from her planet speaks like this and nobody has ever said Deanna why do you talk funny?

  • Is it possible to connect 2 PCs together using Wi-Fi, without using a router?

I'm not bothered about connecting to the Internet. I would just like to know if its possible to transfer files via Wi-Fi through the USB ports or is it better to use Bluetooth instead?

  • Why do Americans call Autumn "The Fall?"?

I've always been curious about this. Why is it Americans use "The Fall" or "Fall" to represent Autumn season? I know its probably because the leaves fall from the trees, but why don't they just call it Autumn like we do in the UK? Has it got something to do with American Independance?

  • G.T.A Liberty City Stories coming out on the XBox?

Does anyone know when G.T.A Liberty City Stories is coming out on the original XBox or even if it will? I know there are still games being released for the original XBox, even though the 360 has been out for a while. Any useful information would be great, cheers!

  • Is the UK TV Licence fee really worth the money?

I personally think that the licence fee is not worth the money, for the simple reason that there are fewer programmes that I now watch on the BBC than I used to. There are more programmes that I detest watching now than good ones, even on the Digital channels!! I think there's too much dumbing down on TV now, with programmes following the same formulas. What do you think?

Should the BBC replace the licence fee with something else and what would you like to see on television? Discuss.

  • What file formats does the orginal XBox recognise?

What specifically can the XBox recognise once the files have been transferred from say a PC or any disc? I don't really need to know how to transfer files to the XBox, as I already know how to do this.

I just need to know what files can be played, without modifying the XBox in any way. Cheers.
