Should there be a ban on Babies and Toddlers in movies rated PG-13 and R?
I went to see Transformers yesterday with my wife. It was a late afternoon showing. The clan sitting yesterday had a baby in a carrier that kept playing with the sun shield, making a noise that sounded like cardboard being ripped. The clan’s second brat was three or four years old decided to stand on the stairs to the exit and screech, whine, cry, and ***** for twenty straight minutes. Mom made a half hearted attempt at shutting her spawn up then proceeded to laugh with the woman she came in with at her brats antics. After getting sick of this my Wife and I told the clan to control their kid, leading to the Father telling me in broken English to say it to his face. Rather then throw down in a crowded theater, I went and got the manager who proceeded to escort them out to the theaters applause and the clan cursing me in Spanish.
Now I know some people will say that Parents need a break too and all of that, and I agree. But I did not pay $15 to go to the movies to listen to these uncontrolled brats. This was a PG-13 rated film and they should have had the courtesy to get a babysitter. I have seen Parents bring Toddlers into an R rated horror flick and listened to them scream in terror at every little thing. I am getting sick of it.
