  • Which US American President/presidential speechwriter was responsible for the phrase "My Fellow Americans"?

Who made that little catchphrase fashionable? Google ngram search reveals that it began to gain in popularity in the 1920s.

  • During the final questions of the Oct 11th Republican Economic Debate, what was the heckler/protestor shouting?

    http://www.2012presidentialelectionnews.com/2011/1...

    http://thepage.time.com/2011/10/11/complete-transc...

    Quoted from the Time.com transcript:

    ---

ROSE: All right. I've got one last question, one last question, with 30 minutes...

    PROTESTOR: (OFF-MIKE)

    ROSE: One last question...

    PROTESTOR: (OFF-MIKE)

ROSE: All right. One last question, as we close this evening, and, each of you, 30 seconds. What is it about you that you want to connect with the American people, in their both despair and in their hope for the future that says something essentially about who you are?

And I begin with Congresswoman Bachmann.

    BACHMANN: I'm sorry, Charlie.

    (CROSSTALK)

    SANTORUM: A little distraction.

    (LAUGHTER)

    ---

    What was that "Protestor" saying?

  • Proposal: Two rings or one?

I've purchased a wedding set that includes an engagement ring and a wedding band. I'm going to propose to my girlfriend next week, and I'd like to know; should I present her with both rings or only the engagement ring?

They're both beautiful and in fact, they even interlock.

What is traditional? What sounds correct in a modern context? Is there some exception made for wedding sets that were meant to go together?

  • What is the statistically sunniest week in Seattle?

I'm planning a picnic later this year, and I'm trying to find a range of days with a good chance of good weather.

I'll be taking the current weather conditions into account, but I wanted to narrow my field of inquiry.

Is this a good way of doing it? It there a better way of doing it? Is there a good online community for this sort of thing?

    Thanks

  • Find this movie poster. Correct Answer gets ten points.?

There's this movie poster from a horror/suspense film made within the last 15 years of an owl sort of looking shadow/silhouette. It might be about aliens, possibly a family in a house in New England. Or maybe I'm confusing that part with The Amityville Horror. I think it only looked like an owl because of the large eyes, though there might have been horns also.

Please include a link to an image of the movie poster in (or as) the reference.

  • Do I need a permit or some sort of license to play my guitar in a Tube station?

or do I just open up the case and starting strummin' away? The Saxophone-playing bums all seem to have photocards, but since the TFL website doesn't seem to mention them at all I figured they must be union cards or something. Brotherhood of Saxaphone-Playing Bums, local 354...

  • What is the proper way to form a sentence with an integral?

I can't recall from my calculus days: If I'm taking the integral of a function f(x), over an interval [a,b], with respect to x, how do I state that in a single sentence when speaking to someone (I know how to write it).

I think it was something like, "The integral of F of X from a to b, with respect to x is..." or "The integral of F of X with respect to x, from a to b is..." but I can't remember which it is.

    Any help here?

(I'm trying to formulate an extremely nerdy joke, and I'd like to get it right. Google and Wikipedia have failed me, and I figure it was high time I use this service.)
