  • Football season is upon us! Any advice for low sodium snack foods?

I'm looking for low-sodium, low-potassium versions of football snack favorites. I'm preparing these for a young man with severe heart problems and needs to limit his sodium intake to a very small amount. I don't want him to feel like he's missing out on everything he used to enjoy eating and doing, so i'm trying to keep game days as close to normal as possible. Any suggestions, recipes, tips, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

  • Approximate cab fare from Peabody to Salem?

I'm going to be visiting the Salem area, and will be staying at the Homewood Suites in Peabody. Can any locals give me a rough idea of the cab fare I can expect for a trip from the hotel to the Salem 'attraction' area?

Any recommendations for a taxi company that's better/cheaper than others?

Any info is appreciated, thank you.

  • What is the recipe for *this* GORP??

I understand that GORP traditionally stands for Good Ole' Raisens and Peanuts, however, I bought a snack food at the food Co-op that is also called GORP. It is not a trail mix. It comes in the form of small (about 1.5" x 1.5" x 1.5") cubes. They are soft and chewy, and very very yummy. It includes some trail mix type ingredients (chopped seeds/nuts, bits of fruit, coconut shavings), but i can't figure out what the binding agent is! Has anybody ever eaten this? Does anybody have a recipe? Does anyone out there know what the heck i'm talking about?!

  • The best way to remove skins from frozen whiting?

I bought a large bag of frozen whiting filets only to discover, when i opened it, that the skins are still on. What is the best way to remove them? Or, the best way to prepare them, so the skins are easily removed before eating?
