I am a city employee, and I believe all city employees are being misled. We've been informed that the closing of a local correctional institution is affecting city budgets. To my knowledge the only city services provided are water and sanitation. I do not understand how this could affect a budget by 25% My department is probably going to be hit the hardest.

I know the city survived prior to the existence of this facility. And believe poor management by department heads is the direct problem. We've been under budget every year. The numbers don't add up.
