is defy not the heart the story where the main characters brother lose an arm in battle? If not do you know what story that happens in?

Hi, I’m looking for a book it’s a historical romance set in the middle ages in England. I believe it to be a Johanna Lindsey but I’m not sure. Anyway, in the beginning of the book the main female character is trying to protect her home. she has two brothers, one who lost his arm in battle and another who retreated and left his baby in her care. the brother lost his arm in battle and was left their to die but doesnt and ends up being trained by his new brother in law. And the guy that she marries he helps train her brother who lost his arm. I know this is not a lot to go on but if you can think of any book that vaguely resembles this I will be greatly appreciative.
