  • Getting a new puppy!?

well i will be getting my first puppy (not the first dog we have had my parents have both had puppys and we currently have a dog as well) but this will be my first puppy, i already am prepared for the most part $ wise (initial cost and supplies needed) so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how we can prepare our current dog to the new arrival when we finally get the puppy, (still looking for a pup).

here is an insight into our current dog, hes bossy and likes to think he runs things, is a dominant dog, and has trouble playing with other dogs because he likes to play ruff (we got him from a shelter and he had come with a lot of issues we have worked really hard on him and he finally feels like he is part of the family and is much more mellow although he still gets really hyper and silly when he needs to go out or needs a walk or is just over exited). feel free to ask other questions if u want to about him o and hes a husky white shep mix so we think, if that helps

so we plan on getting a Rotty pup (we had a rotty that died earlier in the year so we are familiar with this breed), i am not a child i am 20years old and i know the responsibilities that come along with owning a dog its just as i am a first time puppy owner i would like some outside, insight on ideas you other pet owners, trainers, may have on how i can prepare our current dog Casper for a puppy to come, i dont want him to feel like he doesn't belong in our family because he does, and i want to prevent as much conflict as possible
