TTC #2 while still breastfeeding #1 - Also have PCOS?
I am wondering if continued breastfeeding is the cause of my being unsuccessful in conceiving baby #2. My first child is now 2 years and 9 months and I wanted to have her self wean but now I am wondering if my PCOS combined with the bf is causing me to not conceive. If this is the cause, I'm not sure how to go about weaning her. Currently she only nurses twice a day.
My periods did come back but since January I have been having really long periods (i.e. 20 days of bleeding). I have checked with the doctor and my levels are all normal and the bleeding has not been miscarriages. He has offered fertility drugs once I have all my tubing checked to make sure there is not a blockage somewhere.
I've read that the second child is usually easier to conceive when you have PCOS so I don't understand why it's just not happening. Any ideas ?
3 AnswersTrying to Conceive1 decade agoScholarships for children of fallen soldiers?
In Canada today, they just announced that children of fallen soldiers have been given $4000 scholarships so that they can further their education.
While I agree that this is a start somehow I think that their post-secondary schooling should be free. I feel that they have lost so much in losing a parent that the country should at least let them have a free education.

4 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoThe Time Traveller's Wife by A. Niffenegger?
I finished reading this book a couple of days ago and I was just wondering what other people thought of the book.
Personally, I find it was a good read, but I liked the Henry side of the story more than the Clare side. I find that Henry, even though he didn't like all the time travel that he couldn't control and the fact that he would have to beg, borrow and steal to sustain himself on his trips, he still got to see things and experience life. He even got to spend time with his daughter after he died (in Alba's time, not in his).
Clare seems to have gotten the raw end of the deal. Living in real time she is stuck waiting all the time. She spends her young life pining for a man she knows is coming. She spends her married life pining for the same man who will eventually come back from his time travel and then even after he dies, when she is 36, she stills waits around for him because he told her they would meet when her hair grew white. She says it best. She vanished. I don't know if I like that idea.
What life experience did she get? Henry always said he didn't want to influence the future by giving her too much information but by letting her know that they were to marry did he really ever give her a chance to live a bit ? I don't think so.
Also, we never really find out what happens to Alba in the end. We have a glimpse that she can control her time travel a bit but to what extent ?
It was a very interesting story but not really a situation I think that I would like to be in.

1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoTo parents who had/have a family bed.?
At what age did you get your child to sleep in their own bed? How did you make the transition?
We currently have a family bed with my 14 month old daughter and things are going well but eventually she will need to sleep in her own room. We cannot do it right now because she is teething but I am thinking that the change should happen in the next couple of months.
I am looking for smooth ways to make the transition. Having my daughter cry it out is not a solution that I am looking for.
What has been your experience?
5 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoTo mothers with PCOS who were able to breastfeed their babies...?
I am wondering when your period came back. Currently, I am still breastfeeding my 10 month old baby and I have PCOS.
I plan to let the baby wean when she chooses to but I was wondering if I have to completely stop breastfeeding so that my period will return.
We want to try for a second and it took us over a year for the first so I want to know what to expect time wise.
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoFor mothers who breastfed their infants past 6 months of age...
I have a 9 and a half month old daughter that I breastfeed. When her first 2 teeth came in we went through a bit of biting but I got her to stop by saying NO firmly. Recently her top 4 came in and we had some more biting but it looks like this has now stopped.
My question is...will I need to repeat the retraining of how not to bite mommy's nipple with every set of teeth or is it just for the front ones that they tend to bite you with.

when the contestants go back into the dining room to find out who is being eliminated there are always pots of something boiling. What is in the pots? Is it just done for effect?

Are they actually meant to be permanent weight loss programmes or are they really just hoping you will have to keep coming back to them because you cannot manage to keep the weight off alone?
21 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoBreastfeeding after one year, how does it work?
I will be returning to work once my baby has turned one year of age and I would like to continue to breastfeed her until she turns at least 2.
Is it possible to work her feedings so that she breastfeeds once before I leave for work and then maybe 2 or 3 times when I come back? If so how does this work?
By then, she will be on solids so she can eat regular food during the day. Would she get homogenized cow's milk during the day or no milk since I will still be feeding her?
If I am able to change my feeding schedule with her, will my body adjust? I don't think pumping at work would work for me. I am a high school teacher (in Canada) and my schedule does not have breaks every couple of hours.
Please answer if you have done this yourself.
Thanks
