  • Who gets one family vacation that cost the equivalent of average person's income for 2000 lifetimes?

If you are a USA taxpayer you get to help with expenses of trip!

Guess correctly and add the best alternate use for that 60 to 100 million dollars, for best answer.

Something like getting motorized all-terrain wheelchairs for entitled wounded vets (Warriors) or helping keep some national parks and buildings open that have been closed for inadequate funding.

  • At sea sailor needs help - which wires in a USB are the nominal 5v?

Got a sailor friend at sea with 3 AAA lithium batteries that need to be charged. Thinking that maybe the output from his laptop could be tapped if we knew which wires were the power. Also what is the amp rating on most laptop USB outputs? The batteries are: (3) Energizer L92 1.5V AAA Lithium Batteries and they power a SPOT gps locator. currently in Gulf of Alaska.

Yeah he forgot the spares batteries but he did remember the SatPhone!!

  • Spot GPS tracker using 3 Energizer L92 1.5V AAA Lithium Batteries. is dying, Help?

Son of friend is currently in- transit from Seward AK 6 days heading S CMG 151. His Spot batteries are almost used up and no spares apparently on board. How can he adapt/convert/use his 12v battery banks and/or a solar panel to get his Spot operating again? In answering, assume that he is willing to sacrifice the waterproof seal. I would pose this question directly to SPOT website but my location (Mexico) makes this expensive and Skype does not have touch tone to activate connection in English.

It has been in a cover for at least the last 50 years, pretty nice condition other than tarnish.

What is the actual silver content of this coinage?

  • How warm does a dog's bed need to be in summertime?

and how do you accomplish this in hot weather?

Rescued from shelter about 7 months ago

    Breed: Schnauzer Standard

Age: 7 years born and raised in this climate.

Grooming : Body hair cut to 1/4" with close cut belly hair; legs trimmed to about 1" length

    Daytime Max Temp 110 F Today 95F

    Nighttime Min Temp: 78 F Today 78F

Dog bed is outside on 3 sided covered patio, limited exposure

I have been advised by local vet that this dog needs to have

blanket bedding inside a travel kennel with a cover over the vent holes on

top and both sides. Also the dog should have a jacket on for sleeping outside.

I suspect this (keep them hot advise) may be a cultural thing, as Latinos locally bundle their young up on the hottest summer days. Personally, I am heat intolerant.

Until receiving this advise, the bedding was an air conditioning (matte) pad inside a canvas cover/ pillow casing with a layer of the same material underneath for air flow and cushioning. No cover on the top or side vents of the travel kennel.

Our,shelter rescued 3 months ago, 6 year old ,20 pound female Schnauzer was put on a special dry vet diet about 8 weeks ago due to blood in urine. The local water is very hard loaded with minerals, external fountain perimeter gray with heavy build up.

To assure sufficient fluid, I began giving her liquid addition to her dry diet. a 2:1 mix of bottled water and whole milk (80ml:20ml) with each of her twice daily feedings.

Background complete: Is there any long term problems with feeding milk (2ml per lb. of dog) daily?

I have two air chucks for inflating tires (Schrader valves) The line pressure is 110 psi to the chuck(s). When I apply the chuck to the valve stem no air passes. I have tried it on 3 different valves, (2 tires and a supply inlet on a second air tank). depressing the center pin with a punch and air passes fine.

Stubborn chucks, where's Geico's wood chuckers.....I could use them to throw some wood at theses Chucks!!

  • How do I tell the difference between blood in urine and start of dog's period?

How do I tell the difference between blood in urine and start of dog's period?

We rescued a 6-7 year old female Schnauzer 24 days ago. We were told she had just (non-specific time or date) finished her period (heat cycle). This morning on a walk she peed on some concrete and the urine was clear but with a definite tint or red.

Never owned a female dog before and not sure the signs of start of heat cycle. Concern that she may have a urinary tract infection.

Appreciate some guidance and links as well.

The weatherstrip is in good shape other than it falls loose from metal lip on top and back section of door opening too often. It shows no evidence of ever having adhesive applied to lip or the strip. What should I use for adhesive. I am sure there is a specialty product available. Looking for proper product but also the #2 alternative (location Baja Calif Sur, Mexico)

  • Phlegm, the thick 'lungers', which occur as a cold or the flu starts to breakup.?

Unsightly for sure. That and the thick sinus drainage that can be sucked into your throat/mouth from you sinuses; Does it prolong the healing process for that to be processed and discharged through your digestive system as opposed to elimination at the time it is loosened and in your throat/mouth. At times there are not acceptable discharge containers. From a health standpoint are the active contagious components still within the phlegm/snot/mucus? Does it prolong the cold, viral infection, or flu to just swallow? We normally swallow mucus daily and think nothing of it. Thanks to the white blood cells working it has become thick.

  • Is it good wiring to split a pair out of Cat5e out into separate outlet?

Need to rewire a number of rooms in home. I plan to use a Cat5e patch panel down stream of NID and a ADSL splitter. Is it permissible to just run a single 5e cable from patch panel to the outlet boxes and connect a pair into a separate outlet for the single line phone and the other pairs for internet and LAN to another outlet.

There will be 5 sites, (3 in house and 2 in remote structures) Compound is spread out and concrete walls as well.
