I have an acquaintance at school who is extremely strange- she has zilch natural talent at academic subjects but she is a serious and I mean serious swat and plodder. Her mum is very strange herself they are seriously tight, like they go to charity shops when they have more than enough money and they are incredibly selfish. The girl is obsessed with impressing teachers by doing extra homework trying to look like a genius always feigning interest and asking about marks early. Now, however, when she is asked a question she just stares at a spot and has no reaction, not even bothering to say I don't know. I don't know why she does this. She is also really manipulative you have no idea. She puts herself under enormous stress to do well and impress teachers. Does anyone know about any disorders like this, I think her mums brought her up like this it's not natural.

He's made us do an essay on the Great Gatsby, which was due the day before half term, i didnt hand it in or even do it because i didnt need to, it was for coursework but i already had a piece for that coursework assignment at full marks so i wouldnt have used it anyway. he mentioned it at parents' evening and its now the end of half term hes expecting it tomorrow i really wanna say sir do i really have to do it but i can cos hes a b****. he gave us another one to do over half term for a different coursework slot- i have a nearly full mark one already i dont need to do a new one all i need to do is brush up a few sentences. my gcses are soonish i need to be revising instead im wasting my time on these essays. ive done 300/1500 word essay im aiming to hand in a 100 one just to do it but i cant do it now and Im not doing an all nighter, but if i dont he will kill me tomorrow. my only option is to stay off school tomorrow but i dont want to! anything i can say to him? No 'you should have done it' comments because i dont need to do it. ive got gcse speking exams in 2 weeks hes an absolute b****

Economics A level or Geography A level?

My school offers both for AQA A level, and my current options are French, Spanish and Chemistry, so it's one of Geography/Economics. I've studied Geography at IGCSE but have never studied Economics; I know that often people take Economics A level with no experience, but I don't want a subject which is really difficult because my options are already said to be quite tough. I really like the human side of Geography and not so much the physical side, although its alright, and Economics is meant to be a bit like the human side of Geography (apparently!). Economics will probably be more useful in life, and I want to do a degree in modern languages if that should affect my choice. I am a very hard working and very bright student also, however, I'm not sure if I'm business minded.
