  • Keeper Deadline: Adrian Peterson and ...?

    I'm allowed UP TO 3 Keepers this season and definitely keeping A. Peterson. My other options to consider are:

    * C.J. Anderson, Den RB

    * Alshon Jeffery, Chi WR

    * Emmanuel Sanders, Den WR

    * Jimmy Graham, Sea TE

    I have the 6th pick in the draft. If I stick with AP in the first round, I'm looking at the 9th and 20th overall picks. Should I keep any of my other potential options, or take my chances from a pool without (so far):

    * Marshawn Lynch, Sea RB

    * Antonio Brown, Pit WR

    * Andrew Luck, Ind QB

    * Calvin Johnson, Det WR

    * Dez Bryant, Dal WR

    * Julio Jones, Atl WR

  • Old/Weak Power Supply Causing Unexpected Shutdowns?

    My PC is unexpectedly shutting down during intense usage, such as

    cranking out HD videos in Adobe Premiere Pro, and running BOINC projects at max CPU/GPU usage during the PC's idle time. Event Viewer doesn't tell me anything useful except for it being an unexpected shutdown. I've upgraded most of the hardware in the last 2 years except for the power supply, a Corsair HX520W.

    Specs:

    (Note: No overclocking)

    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX

    CPU: AMD FX-8150 Zambezi 8-Core 3.6GHz Socket AM3+ 125W

    RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

    PSU: Corsair HX520W 520W ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS

    GPU: Gigabyte GV-R775OC-2GI AMD Radeon HD 7750 2GB GDDR3 VGA/2DVI/HDMI PCI-Express

    Internal SSD: Samsung 840 Series MZ-7TD120BW 2.5" 120GB SATA III

    External HDD: Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB USB 3.0

    BD Drive: LG WH14NS40 14x SATA Blu-ray Internal Rewriter

    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1

    If I remember correctly, the minimum PSU requirement for the video card is 400W. Is it time I upgraded the PSU? If so, should I stick with Corsair and look at models in the 750W range? Thanks!

  • Quick! Start C.J. Spiller or Joique Bell?

    I've got Darren Sproles and Bilal Powell starting as well. Who should be my 3rd RB?

    C.J. Spiller (injured) will be splitting carries with Fred Jackson (injured) and possibly Tashard Choice (healthy) against a #4 ranked Browns run defense.

    Joique Bell (healthy) will probably take a back seat to Reggie Bush now that he's healthy, but he might see some goal-line looks and passes against a weak Packers run and pass defense.

  • Keepers are Due Tonight..Who to Keep?

    Here's my lineup with last year's positional ranking, based on my league's scoring, in parenthesis:

    ---------------------------------------------------

    Robert Griffin III, Wsh QB (7)

    ---------------------------------------------------

    Adrian Peterson, Min RB (1)

    C.J. Spiller, Buf RB (8)

    Frank Gore, SF RB (10)

    Darren Sproles, NO RB (15)

    Mikel Leshoure, Det RB (23)

    Knowshon Moreno, Den RB (39)

    Maurice Jones-Drew, Jac RB (57)

    ---------------------------------------------------

    Randall Cobb, GB WR (1)

    Lance Moore, NO WR (24)

    Torrey Smith, Bal WR (30)

    Miles Austin, Dal WR (31)

    Pierre Garcon, Wsh WR (53)

    Kenny Britt, Ten WR (66)

    ---------------------------------------------------

    Chargers D/ST (7)

    Matt Bryant, Atl K (3)

    I can choose up to 3 players. Here's who I've decided to keep, so far:

    1) Adrian Peterson is a no-brainer!

    2) Randall Cobb will be a beast once again this year as Rodgers' favorite target and the Packers' main kick & punt returner. (Keep in mind my league scores return yardage equally as rushing and receiving yardage, 10 yards = 1 point. This is how he wound up #1 WR in my league.)

    3) Empty.

    I'm tempted to keep:

    RG3: Questionable for a Week 1 start and a gamble coming off a torn ACL only 8 months ago.

    Spiller: Crazy skills! This could be a breakout year for Thriller but Jackson will be back to steal some hand-offs and end-zone looks.

    Sproles: Both a receiving and running threat on a productive and pass-heavy offense. If he was still returning kicks and punts, this would be a no-brainer.

    Or I could just roll with 2 keepers and hope for the best with an early 3rd round draft pick.

    Thoughts?

  • Playoff Semifinal Lineup: Where to Start RB/WR C.J. Spiller?

    I'm up against the #1 seed in my money league and need input on the best possible lineup for this week.

    The beautiful thing about C.J. Spiller is he's eligible to play as a RB or WR. He's projected to have a big game against a decent Broncos defense and, coming off a 31-point game last week, I'm tempted to start him this week.

    But who do I bench? Blount has been hit-or-miss all season and only scored 3 points the last time he was up against the weak Panthers run defense. Colston has been mediocre since his return due to Brees' many receiving options, but he's had a good last 2 weeks. Harvin has had a great month but the Saints held him to 2 points last week and he's up against a decent Redskins secondary this week.

    Keep in mind my league scores return yardage equally as rushing and receiving yardage, so Darren Sproles and Percy Harvin have had much success (ranked #5 RB and #4 WR respectfully) this season. Also, we play a WR/TE flex position and Jimmy Graham (ranked #2 TE) has held down that spot since Week 2.

    I'm open to any other lineup changes, so please feel free to comment.

    Here's what my starting lineup has pretty much looked like the past few weeks:

    QB Michael Vick vs. Cowboys

    RB Darren Sproles vs. Falcons

    RB Michael Turner vs. Saints

    RB/WR LeGarrette Blount vs. Panthers

    WR Percy Harvin vs. Redskins

    WR Marques Colston vs. Falcons

    WR/TE Jimmy Graham vs. Falcons

    D/ST Jets vs. Giants

    K John Kasay vs. Falcons

    Bench:

    RB/WR C.J. Spiller vs. Broncos

    RB Pierre Thomas vs. Falcons

    RB Steven Jackson vs. Steelers

    RB Peyton Hillis vs. Ravens

    WR Laurent Robinson vs. Eagles

    WR Mario Manningham vs. Jets

    TE Aaron Hernandez vs. Dolphins

  • Can I play CoD: MW3 and activate an XBox Live 12-month gold card in the US if they were both bought in the UK?

    I'm getting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and an XBox Live 12-month gold card for my birthday next week but they're coming from the UK. Am I going to have any problem playing/activating either on a US XBox 360 and Live account?

  • Flex start Manningham or Colston in Week 5?

    Manningham is up against a weak Seahawks secondary. Eli Manning has had good games against the Seahawks in the past. Despite good performances by Cruz playing in his place the past two weeks, Manningham stated this week that he is still the #2 receiver on the team.

    Colston is up against a mediocre Panthers secondary. Coach Payton said he's fully healthy and ready to see an increased role. I've already got Sproles and Graham starting for me this week!

    I could even throw Deion Branch in the mix but he's up against the Jets this week.

    I'm leaning more towards Manningham.

  • Pick up Deion Branch & Roy Williams and risk losing #1 waiver priority?

    Pick up Deion Branch (Patriots WR) and Roy Williams (Bears WR) and drop James Jones (Packers WR) and Jerome Simpson (Bengals WR) solely for bench/bye week strength?

    Should I risk my current #1 waiver order priority or wait til Saturday when their waivers clear?

  • Help me decide a fair draft order for an existing keeper league?

    In the 2nd year of my keeper league, as expected, some people dropped out while 3 new members have joined. What is the fairest way to set my draft order tomorrow?

    Option #1 - Grant the 3 newest members the first 3 picks in random order, while returning members go in reverse order of last years' final standings.

    Example:

    Pick #1 - New Team #2

    Pick #2 - New Team #3

    Pick #3 - New Team #1

    Pick #4 - Existing Team #10

    Pick #5 - Existing Team #9

    Pick #6 - Existing Team #8

    ...

    Option #2 - Randomize all members' draft order.

    Example:

    Pick #1 - Existing Team #7

    Pick #2 - New Team #1

    Pick #3 - Existing Team #9

    Pick #4 - Existing Team #4

    Pick #5 - Existing Team #2

    Pick #6 - New Team #3

    ...

  • What sort of hardware failure could the following BSoD stop errors mean?

    I've recovered the data and wiped the hard drive on an Emachines desktop PC that was infected by hundreds of viruses and malware. As I performed a fresh install of Windows XP several times, I'd get the following BSoD stop errors during Windows Setup copying files and installation:

    http://www.divshare.com/direct/14219241-fa1.jpg

    http://www.divshare.com/direct/14219242-98e.jpg

    http://www.divshare.com/direct/14219254-d88.jpg

    http://www.divshare.com/direct/14219255-6bf.jpg

    I've ran a few hardware diagnostics to only find a faulty memory module, which I removed and restarted Windows Setup, only to continue to receive these errors. I've also installed a different, working hard drive, used different Windows XP Setup CDs, but still received these errors. So I've ruled out the original hard drive, CD/DVD drive and media to be faulty. I've tried updating the BIOS but couldn't get the setup files I got off the Emachines support site to run on a bootable CD I created.

    Please help me identify the hardware issue so I can hunt down the part I need to replace. Or if you have any other Windows installation suggestion I can try, please advise. Thanks!

  • Start BJ Green-Ellis over LG Blount at RB? N. Washington over R. Moss at WR?

    It's Week 1 of my FFL playoffs and I'm stumped at who to start in my 3rd RB and WR slot.

    BJ Green-Ellis has been pretty consistent putting up double digit fantasy points lately and will probably be running the rock a lot against a tough run D in a Patriots blowout of the Packers. But, I'm also tempted to start LG Blount who will probably, but not guaranteed, run all over the Lions D.

    Where I really need your help is at WR! I'm so tempted to start R. Moss, who I just picked up off waivers. He has a nice match-up this week, but has been disgustingly unreliable this year, to say the least. Meanwhile, N. Washington leads the team in receiving yards and K. Britt is back to steal some catches but will Moss finally look alive and get open down the field and will K. Collins get the ball to him?? M. Sims-Walker has been another inconsistent upset this year but the semi-hot Jags will probably take to the air as they'll need to keep up with the Colts. J. Gaffney puts up weak, consistent numbers with K. Orton, but could he build quick chemistry with T. Tebow if he starts? Could D. Hagan have a big game with Smith and Nicks out? The Giants will take to the air to keep up with those dirty green pigeons.

    Take a look at my starters/bench and give me your feedback.

    QB Matt Schaub @Ten

    RB Michael Turner @Sea

    RB LeSean McCoy @NYG

    RB/WR BenJarvus Green-Ellis vs. GB

    WR Marques Colston @Bal

    WR Deion Branch vs. GB

    WR/TE Nate Washington vs. Hou

    D/ST Saints D/ST @Bal

    K Matt Bryant @Sea

    Bench

    LeGarrette Blount vs. Det

    Brandon Jackson @NE

    Chris Ivory @Bal

    Randy Moss vs. Hou

    Mike Sims-Walker @Ind

    Jabar Gaffney @Oak

    Derek Hagan vs. Phi

  • Vegas to Havasu Falls/Grand Canyon Questions?

    I'll be in Vegas mid-November and plan on driving out to the Grand Canyon. I want to make a few quick stops along the way (Hoover Dam, Route 66, Grand Canyon Caverns, etc)

    If I leave Vegas before dawn, would I be able to do all of this in one day?

    Would I be able to get some quick hiking in? I'm dying to check out Havasu Falls or even one of the South Rim trails but I heard those are an all-day adventure.

    Going back to Havasu Falls...after the terrible flooding last year, what is the condition of the falls now? I heard one of the falls disappeared but newer ones formed. Is the water back to its beautiful blue-green color?

    What's the weather like around these parts in mid-November?

    Thanks..and please feel free to recommend anything interesting I should check out along the way.
