  • Recover / Reconfigure RAID 0?

My RAID 0 array seems to have become misconfigured (potentially due to a bios reset from other issues).

The data is all still there as I m using a tool to recover it all to a NAS drive now.

Can I reconfigure the RAID without losing all the data?

Windows still sees it as a single drive but says it needs formatting.

  • DCE connections on routers?

Hi folks, just a quick one here.

I'm setting up a scenario on packet tracer that involves three routers connected via serial.

I have ISP, London and Rome.

Do I have to set up a DCE on just ONE of the routers which will set the clock rate for all?

    Example 1

    ISP(DCE)-----(DTE)LONDON(DTE)-----(DTE)ROME

or do I need a DCE end for each connection which will set the clock rate for each connection?

    Example 2

    ISP(DCE)-----(DTE)LONDON(DCE)-----(DTE)ROME

    Thank you

  • Games minimise during play?

I've never really played any games on this PC because it just had internal gfx but I've recently bought a new gfx card.

Its a XFX Radeon 5770 XXX.

I've been playing Bulletstorm, Crysis 2 and Homefront and all of them, after an unknown amount of time (probably an hour at least), minimise without warning to my desktop. I can click the game in the taskbar and return exactly to where I was.

I'm not pressing the Windows key and I'm not Alt-Tabbing out either.

There are no programs running apart from background programs like Avast.

    System spec

AMD Phenom II X2 3.1GHz (Unlocked to 4 cores)

    8GB DDR3 PC1333

    XFX Radeon 5770 XXX 850MHz 1GB GDDR5

    Asus M4A785TD-V Evo Motherboard

    650W PSU

    320GB 7200RPM HDD

All temperatures are fine when it minimises.

System doesn't seem to lag as if it's loading something.

    V-Sync is on in games.

Any more details and I can provide them.

    Thanks

  • Red around nose and mouth?

I either get this without knowing or by doing certain things such as washing my face.

Its not blotchy or rough or flaky skin.

Its basically like when you're embarrassed and your face goes red.

Anyway its just around my nose and mouth from the bridge of my nose, straight down to the edges of my mouth like a triangle.

I wouldn't say my breathing is very clear either, it always seems a little stuffy at the best of times.

I suffer with headaches a lot.

Could anyone shed some light on what this might be? A sinus problem perhaps?

  • PSU blown by case fan. Assistance please?

    Hi folks.

Done a system build for a friend of mine, got everything working, installed windows etc. Everything was running fine.

I powered the system down, unplugged it and connected the side panel and fan. Fired the system back up and it lit up for half a second and died.

I've tried another PSU on the system and it works fine but I don't want to test that fan out again incase it blows the PSU (which is mine).

Is it likely that the fan is faulty causing it to short out? Or was it probably just a faulty PSU that couldn't quite hack it in the end?

Here are the details of the system.

    Asus M4A88T-V Evo

AMD Phenom II 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz

Kingston 4GB DDR 1600MHz HyperX Blu

    WD 500GB SATA HDD

    Samsung BD-ROM DVDRW

    CIT 750W Dual Rail PSU

    Thanks

  • Video editing PC requirements?

    Hi folks.

Need a little information for a system build where one of the most important factors is going to be video editing and encoding.

I understand that a multi core CPU is required for something like this but was wondering is video editing greatly dependant on a GPU in terms of encoding etc?

The reason I'm trying to find out is because I want to justify the need for purchasing a graphics card. If it's not really needed I'll just purchase a motherboard with on board graphics (I mean something like a Radeon HD 4200 built in, not just crappy basic graphics).

Software being used will probably be something like Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects.

    Thanks

  • Routing table description?

    Hi folks

Can someone please help me to define each segment of the routing table.

    D 192.168.6.0/24 [90/21] via 192.168.2.1, 00:00:24

Please correct me if I'm wrong

    90 - Administrative distance

2172416 - Metric? (So either the hop count or bandwidth etc?)

00:00:24 - Would this be the time it would take to traverse the network?

I can't seem to find the detailed information in my Cisco book

    Thanks for the help

  • Microsoft Technology Associate?

Does anyone know where I can find a little more information about this qualification.

I could do with a low level IT certification to help get me into an IT job.

I'm currently studying for a HND and CCNA at University. Is this a fairly easy qualification that could be achieved over the course of summer holidays perhaps? I can't seem to find any mock exams to see what kind of questions would be asked.

    Any help would be great.
