  • Does anyone here use natural training with their horses.?

Hi all does any here use natural trainig methods with their horses.

I use most of the time and i have just handled 2 new 2 yrs olds that were unhandled with great success i also tie my own pressure halters and i use the halters to educate with pressure and release and approach and retreat both were leading out the same day

and are approachable to catch and bring in ,tie up both are learning to yield and respecting my space space .In ref to feeding

they are both eating feed now i put a little apple juice in and away they chewed .

I will back the both of them next year using natural training its so nice not to have rude or problem horses and they enjoy what they do and so do i .best wishes to all .

  • Hello in reply to young horses not eating hard feed.?

Thank you for your answers the gentleman who refered to monty roburts i have been using natural training my self for years now but thank you for your time, these 2 horses were barn stored on just hay i was unable to turn them out as they were unhandled ,they are both handled now and go to grass in the day and in at night .

Molases is a good idea to start thank you ,i think it will be just trial and error for a short while as i dont think high sugur content is good

diet perminently i would rarther keep a good balanced diet for their age at this time.they are both teething they have logs to chew in their boxes and salt licks and vit blocks and toys to keep them happy, happily they are not stressed and enjoy their handling and attention ,i use natural training and so far both have progressed

v well ,i have had them 2 weeks only one is thinner than the other

both due worming weekend then things may improve with their appitite ,thank you all best wishes.
