I have applied for refund of income tax under section 89(1) in India for the assessment year 2012 -13 (financial year 2011 -12). But didn't get any information from IT department. So I wrote a letter after one year to Commissioner of Income tax for early refund.

After 10 days ITO inquired some thing on telephone. He asked me "where do you live and what is the rent" I informed that I live in rented house and rent is about 8000/- per month. (But actually I live with my parents in parental house.).

He also inquired about the housing loan that I have taken in the year 2000, I also informed him that builder has not given me possession because of some dispute in parking space, but it seems that ITO was not agree with my answer.

He was angry because I have written for refund (This conclusion came after I met him). he was regularly asking me to submit rent receipt of 96000/-. I never submitted in written that I am residing in the rented house or in my own house or with my parents but telephonic told him when he asked. his main emphasis is on rent of 96000/- and housing loan.

He gave me a letter for depositing the rent receipt of 96000/-

Any one can please help me what answer should I give about the rent receipt.

what to do if interest received from saving account is not included in income tax return for financial year 2011 - 12 and ITO had sent me notice asking that why interest was not added.
