I know there is a concept of "I" now, but I was told that there wasn't in the past. Is this true? If so, do you have a source I can reference.

There is a country song (sung by a dude). He is basically sings about how the world doesnt know his girl. Like the supermarket clerk doesnt know her, and the restaraunt waiter doesnt know her, but to him she is the world. He doesnt use these exact two examples. I just provided them for demonstration.

Below is proof that 1+1=1. What is the error with the derivation?

Start with declaration that:

1. X = Y

2. X^2 = Y*X

3. X^2 - Y^2 = Y*X - Y^2

4. (X + Y)(X - Y) = Y(X - Y)

5. (X + Y) = Y

Lets say X=1 then Y=1 (from our initial assersion that X=Y). So we end up with proof that

1 + 1 = 1

So where did the derivation go wrong and why?
