  • vacuum advance problems?

    i have a 78 chevy nova with a sb350 and HEI distributor. When idling it runs a little rough but when it is put into gear it dies...Could this be a vacuum advance problem or what could it be?

  • backfiring through carb?

    i have a chevy 350 with a hei ignition out of an 85 chevy suburban put into my 78 nova. The short block was recently rebuilt with 30 over flat top pistons, crane cam and lifters, lapped valves, timing gears, heads were ported and polished. intake was ported and polished, new distributor, new plugs, new wires. has 3" hooker headers on it with straight exhaust and a 750 cfm edelbrock carb. ive checked the firing order on the distributor bout 5 times. it takes a while to crank then will fire up but will only run a few seconds till it backfires and shoots fames through the carb. id check the timing more but before i can get out of the car to the engine compartment it dies and backfires...any advice would be greatly appretiated. I have a timeline i have to meet and would love the help...
