    I know that insulin inhibits beta-oxidation and I know that glucagon stimulates it, but what exactly is the pathway involved? What protein in the insulin receptor cascade interacts with what enzyme of beta oxidation?

  • Why don't people know how to use google?

    It seems like some people on here would rather wait a few hours for an answer to a simple question than look it up themselves. I spend a lot of time on the biology, chemistry, and medicine pages, and I can't tell you how many times people will ask something like, "What is DNA?"

    ...and being the nice guy that I am, I don't answer with, "LOOK IT UP MORON!"

    Just ranting here, but I want to know what you guys think about this.

  • How many excess calories to produce a gram of pody fat?

    I need a TRUSTED source that can shed some light on this.

    Assume a 150lb male with a basal metabolic rate of 1650 kcal/day, injesting an additional 1786 kcal per day. Obviously he would gain weight in the form of fat. I need to know how much fat he would gain.
