  • Are my children missing out...?

We are a military family which means that we aren't that close to family. In the entire 6 years of my husband's military career neither side of the family has visited. When I became pregnant with my 3 year old we were told repeatedly that they would be there for the birth. He was the first grandchild on both sides and the name sake for my husband's family. To make a long story short no one showed up. They have repeatedly not sent gifts for birthdays and Christmas. Now I am pregnant with our second child and no one even calls to check how our appointments went or anything. We now live 5 hours away from both families and the excuses to miss this birth have been pouring in.

My question is, do you think that my children are missing out on that love because their grandparents are so horrible? I hold such resentment towards both sides that I don't even want them to see our new son once he is born. Am I unjust in my feelings?

    Thanks so much!

  • Any suggestions for a boy's name that ends with "ly" or "ey"?

Hello everyone! I am due with baby boy #2 in March and have a 3 year old son named Wesley. I know it sounds kind of cheesy but I am thinking of keeping with the "ly" or "ey" pattern. My name as well as my husband's name ends in "ly".

Thank you all for your suggestions!

  • A serious debate about double standards.....?

I am sorry, I don't care for this show but a question sparked a thought...

I answered a question not too long ago for someone about Jon and Kate getting a divorce. I answered the question and said that she emasuclates him and disrespects him on national TV for what seems like the entire episode. Clearly the number of children that they have puts a strain on their relationship, but the way she speaks to him, in my opinion, is unacceptable. I was amazed to see the amount of excuses that she was being given for her behavior, from other women.

And so, my question is, if the roles were reversed and he was the one talking her that way, don't you thing the people making excuses for her would be enraged with his attitude? Why is it that women treating their husbands or boyfriends like children and are disrespectful are cut slack, when men are chastised?

    Thank you for reading!

  • For all of my fellow Buffy fans, I need some help!?

Okay, in the last episode of season 7 "Chosen", Buffy touched Spike's hand and it caught on fire. Was that a throw back to "Once more, with feeling" episode when Buffy sang the song "Walk through the fire"? Because she was singing about how she wants the fire back in her life. What do you think?

  • My friend's think I am shady. Should I even care?

So, a quick story on what happened. I am friends with my group of friends at work's boss. They hate her, and constantly bash her. They don't like that I am friends with her and think that I go to their boss with information about then and "rat them out" and I DO NOT. Now 1 of the group quit, and one of them got fired last week and I got this mean email about how it was all my fault and I can't be trusted. I did NOTHING wrong and don't know where this is coming from.

I am 26, not 16. I am a grown married woman with a 1 year old and would never do that to the people that I care about. What should I do? What would you do? My husband thinks that I shouldn't care what they think but I do. Why would they be so quick to believe that I am that kind of person?

Any advice? Thank you in advance :)

  • What type of food do you serve at a 1 year old's birthday party?

I want my baby's first birthday to be special, and although I know he won't know what is going on or what is being served, I want to know what kind of food to have. His birthday is May 31st and we were thinking hot dogs and hamburgers. What do you suggest?
