Immigration to the US from the UK?
Alright, I'm a UK citizen and currently undertaking my University programming degree, however once I have attained it I am strongly considering moving out the country to America permanently as I am growing increasingly dissatisfied with the way the country currently runs.
With that said, how might one go about attaining american citizenship or the rights to live there? I have gone over several information sites - some of which provided by the US government - on the matter.
The general methods boil down to:
1) Having direct family there
2) Being sponsored by an employer over there
3) Winning the migration lottery out of all the people wanting to get in
I don't have family there nor would I have much luck winning said migration lottery - for those unaware, a small selection of people are chosen each year out of the massive lists of people legally wanting to migrate into the US for residence. With that said, it either leaves finding a job over here, working a few years in said organisation assuming they have international presence and getting sponsored... or are there any other methods? Honestly I don't think my chances of getting a job in this current climate in the UK will be that high, nor surviving in it long enough to get a chance to migrate.
So, does anyone else who has undertaken this have any advice or methods by which I can keep in mind assuming I still wish to move to the US from the UK after my degree is completed?
6 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoIncreasingly Aggravating Mouth/Tongue/Gum Pains, Advice?
Ok, a bit of explanation:
I'm 20, nearly 21, In the past I've had Glandular fever and whenever I get a throat infection some of the symptoms always resurface, inflamed and swollen glands, constricted throat, so forth. Basically, whenever I get a throat infection it is always worse than it should be.
Recently my family had a nasty throat infection going around I'd hoped to avoid however two/three days ago I picked it up as well, for the most part the throat pains have gone however I've developed a number of sores/ulcers on the back of my tongue which are causing increasing amounts of discomfort and pain making it difficult to eat, talk or even drink water due to the pain of doing so. Along side this my tongue has swollen some what and is constantly rubbing against the inside of my teeth making it ache and I've started to get this tingling/burning sensation across it.
Further more my mouth has started to get this same tingling sensation and the odd flare of pain every now and then when I adjust my jaw. Additionally my gums have started to swell - a quick note on this, I may not have the best oral hygiene but I do try and they haven't been like this before - and ache, they aren't bleeding but it just feels like my entire mouth is cramped for space with things swelling and aching everywhere.
Now I'm not really looking for end of the world diagnoses but more general advice on how to cope/deal with the pains, I'm constantly drinking water to soothe the burning sensation, swilling my mouth every now and then with warm salty water but otherwise I can't think of much else.
