Chocolate topping too hard... how to soften?
I have a recipe which has chocolate as the topping where I just melt 12oz. chocolate chips with 2 tbsp oil but everytime I make it everyone loves the taste but complains about how hard the chocolate is setting. It's hard to bit through cleanly and makes a terrible mess. Does anyone know if there is anything else I can add to the recipe (hopefully something that is common in the kitchen so I don't have to go shopping) to make it a bit softer after it sets?

I found a recipe that looks really good but it calls for frying onion and mushrooms in bacon fat. The bacon that I have is homemade by my father in law and he took all the fat off of it. Is there something I can substitute but might still preserve the flavour? (i feel like cooking oil would work but would change the flavour of the dish).

5 AnswersCooking & Recipes7 years agoWhat should I get paid for working a holiday (Canadian)?
I live in BC so minimum wage is 10.25 (what I'm making) and I noticed on my paycheck that I've only been getting paid 5.13 an hour when I work on holidays. I'm just about full time - anywhere from 25 to 35 hours a week so I know I'm entitled to get the regular stat holiday pay. I'm just wondering if 5.13 is right, I thought it was time and a half to work a stat holiday. Also, if I'm right and I'm not getting paid enough how long to I have to claim back payment because I checked for the Canada day weekend and got paid the same amount for that holiday.
