I get a decent amount of attention on dating sites, can line up some actual in person dates. The conversations go very well online, on text, even on the phone sometimes. Then face to face, something goes wrong. People get a bad vibe about me or something. Even when I ask afterwards, nobody can explain to me what I'm doing wrong, what put them off about me. It's happening way too often for it to be "Oh they're just not into you, that's how it goes sometimes" thing. Especially since they're really interested after reading my profile and seeing my pictures, really into the conversations online or on the phone. Before the date I'm showered, teeth brushed, hair styled, dressed nice but not overdoing it. When I meet them I smile, say hello, shake their hand or hug them if they move in to initiate that. Start with some small talk, how are you, hows your week going. Then try to move into deeper, more interesting subjects. I make eye contact, but not too much, look away for a bit, look them in the eyes for a bit, smile a little bit here and there. Try to share a little vulnerability, tell a funny story or two, make a joke here and there, ask them good questions. Part way through though, a lot of times their body language gets awkward, they sort of turn away from me and don't look at me much, stop talking as much. Or, it seems to go fine, but I just don't hear back from them again after. Or I get a follow up text saying they had a good time meeting me but didn't feel any chemistry.
