The Ice Alchemist

Okay here's the thing I'm not usually one to throw out a book, but I did and now I'm having a horrible time trying to find it again. I bought it about four to five years ago, I can remember the cover being black with very bright orange, greens, and reds. There was also a pentical on it, not the good one either, it was the other one very evil looking and all. I can't remember the name or who wrote it. What I can remember of the plot was that it involved a cult and something about children, cause I remember a vivid describtion of a rictual with a young girl and I'm thinking demon rape. I know it ends in a huge manor house, but other than that I can't remember much else. If anyone can help me find this book I would be forever greatful.

You always here about the central US and the amount of Tornadoes they get a year. But why do you never hear anything about tornadoes anywhere else in the world. Do they just not happen or isn't it that big of a deal. I was just curious and hoping someone could give me a good answer.
