  • Compression capris front pockets?!!?

I am having the most difficult time finding compression type athletic capris with front pockets to fit my i-touch. Pretty much all of them have some tiny pocket in the front or back waist band that fits some key or loose change nothing else.

And no I do not want to use an arm band I have tried that and it gets pretty annoying once I start to sweat heavily.

I have 2 pair but unfortunately I am not able to make out the brand because the label has been through a lot of washings.

Can someone give me some ideas? Links? I am not interested in overpriced brands like lululemon.

I have added some pictures so that you have an idea of the style of compression capri I am looking

    for.

    http://s7ondemand1.scene7.com/is/image/roadrunners...

I am interested in the lucky capri legging but I don't want the pocket to be that far down :-(

  • How long do you have to complete Navy EAWS qualifications?

Right now I am attached to a squadron and I have been here for since September 2012. I received my EAWS packet in January 2013. So far I have completed nothing mostly becuase of the scheule I am on, I work from 2330 to 0730, all the first classes and chiefs are not around during that time.

Now more so because I simply don't care and I will definitely be leaving in May 2016 so this is definitely not a career for me.

I keep hearing different answers. One of the second classes above me told me I have 18 months and a third class told me I have 24. When I googled it online I read that the average time for completion is 24 months but that 30 months are given to complete it.

I wanted to know how much time I actually have and what would happen if I don't complete it in that time?

The only thing I am worried about is leaving with an honorable discharge so hopefully not completing this will not affect that. I am not a trouble maker I am just simply bummed about about my experience in the navy so far.

  • Could someone explain ROKU/APPLE tv to me?

I am currently living in the barracks on base. Since I will be living here for at least another year the only service provider I have for television entertainment is COMCAST. I am not impressed with their service and very leery of them but really want to to watch television.

Then I came across ROKU. I have no idea what it is but it looks like a good alternative to comcast.

I DO NOT watch movies AT ALL so I don't care about that. I watch your standard cable networks like E!, OWN, ESPN, MSNBC, CNN, etc. and I also watch sports just to give you an idea. I just plan on using it as if it was cable not for all the other stuff it is primarily advertised for.

Would I have to pay extra for these things? If so typically how much and how long does a typical subscription last? I also wanted to knwo if anyone could also chime in on APPLE TV.

  • My duty station is a squadron, VFA-137 in Lemoore, California.?

I am pretty much done with A-school waiting to process out.

I am an LS and from what I understand will be dealing with parts and repairs. I wanted to know from personal experience and or second hand knowledge what I can expect working in this specific squadron or a squadron in general. It will be VFA-137 in Lemoore, California.

What is the quality of life like? I hear its a smaller group of people, how true is that? When my squadron deploys would it most likely be to a carrier? How often can I expect deployments? What is the advancement like in a squadron?

I wanted to be station in San Diego, but its no big deal that I didn't since its within driving distance. I wanted to know if anyone that has been there can tell me how it is. I am currently in Naval Air Station in Meridian, Mississippi. I have been told that Lemoore is like this but a little better. Can someone shed some light?

  • Realistic job opportunities after Navy as an LS?

I finished boot camp about one month ago and now currently have one month left in A-School. With the responsibility of watch standing alone I KNOW without a shadow of doubt I will only be serving for the 4 years active duty on my contract.

At least until I reach E-5, as an LS it looks like I am going to be doing menial tasks, some completely unrelated to my rating.

I hold an B.S. in Finance and am serving to pay it off.

I was curious to know what realistic job opportunities are available to someone with an LS background in the NAVY along with a degree. From doing my research it seems like unless you are senior enlisted (E-7 through E-9) or an officer private companies don't really care for your experience in the military.

I know advancement is not guaranteed but I figured by the time I have completed my service I will ave been an E-5 for at least a year and a half, hopefully.

I know things aren't looking too great for future employment but I want to hear from people's personal experience about how LS skills translated into the civilian world.

  • Possible banking career path?

I am fed up. I have a degree in finance but STILL have no clue what I want to do. YES, I did go to career counseling in school and they were no help. And research can only do so much.

I was thinking about working in a bank.I have been looking for jobs in government and private companies and still have not found anything. I don't mind the "I'm over qualified for this" positions as long as they lead to something bigger. I say this because I know with most positions it is easier to get into higher roles from within as opposed to the outside.

From current job as a cosmetologist I don't think that I want to work directly with customers. I think I am a nice person but I don't think that I come across as friendly upon initial interactions. So I think I would work better behind the scenes working with other professionals who are within the industry.

I am here to basically ask anyone on here if they have any idea of possible paths that I could take given my background. Whether here or in the bank. And also if anyone could give me any ideas of banks to look into. I currently reside in Northern Virginia, Woodbridge to be exact.

  • Heart murmur Mitral valve?

I went to a general practitioner last week to get a general health physical. At the end of the physical she got her stethoscope to check my heart. At the end of the examination she said that I have a heart murmur. I was a little surprised because I have never heard this before and I am a very healthy person. On my exam sheet she wrote down mitral and something else that I could not make out.

This week, my mother who is a nurse, checked. She said she heard a whooshing sound. But about 20 minutes later she listened to my heart beat and heard nothing.

Next Tuesday I am going to a cardiologist to find out if I even have a heart murmur with an echocardiogram and to see whether its benign or an abnormality caused by a defect in the structure of my heart.

I have a two part question. If someone really does have a heart murmur (that is not benign) with an underlying cause due to a problem with the mitral valve would it be an abnormal sound that is ALWAYS heard with a stethoscope?

Could someone really diagnosis what is causing the murmur with just a stethoscope?

I am not asking for a diagnosis I know that you all are not doctors and even the ones that are don't have my medical history so can't tell me anything about my situation. I am just asking for the experience of people that have been diagnosed. And also experience from cardiologists about it.

  • Active Duty Enlisted to Officer.?

I am seriously considering joining the army. I really wanted to join as an officer since I meet the basic requirements but I don't think that right now I have the characteristics to take on that leadership position (letters of recommendation, leadership experience, etc).

My question is do enlisted soldiers have to serve out their active duty term before they can put together a packet for OCS? So example if I sign up for 3 years do I have to serve out the entire term before I can be considered? I know that in the armed forces every several months service people are up for promotion. Does that work the same way for an officer? Or is it just when the enlisted person is motivated to and has the support of their superiors?

I plan on going in initially for max of 3 years. I will just my butt and see if I can become an officer in say 1.5 to 2 years in I think I will continue 3-4 years. If not I will hopefully be able to make the best of that experience in the private sector or government.

  • How do you handle viewing yourself as a failure?

I graduated from college this past summer and have had ZERO success finding a job or even a freaking UNPAID internship. Unfortunately during my entire course of study I worked which meant that I didn't have any free time to do anything including any internship opportunities. I know that the lack of internships on my resume have hurt me.

I live in the Northern Virgina area which is less than 50 minutes outside of Washington D.C. and the unemployment rate is very low compared to other areas of the country. I didn't think I would have a difficult time finding a job because of this. In addition to this I meet people from across the country who have lost their jobs in other states and were able to obtain employment in this area. So that has given me hope.

I just feel soooo useless and helpless. I never thought that I would be in this position almost a year later. I am not one of new age college grads who wants to come out of school and make $60K. I am willing to work those resume building $30k a year jobs (in the short term) as long as its career building.

Most of the entry level employment opportunities I have been looking at I qualify for but I do not currently have citizenship status (in the process) to get the security clearance that many of them require. I still have a couple months until that process is complete. In the meantime I have nothing to do.

So to try to help with resume builders I have seriously been looking into volunteer activities. I have applied to many but STILL have not received any responses.

I just feel sooo depressed and like such a failure. I really really want to apply to this prestigious graduate school in 4-5 years but as each day goes by I just feel like the longer I am underemployed the more it hurts my chances.

How do I cope? Unfortunately suicidal thoughts have been floating in my head lately. I just don't know what to do :-(

  • Army vs. Navy...marines can chime in if they want.?

I graduated last summer with a 4 year degree (business finance) and have not been able to find a job. And the ones I am qualified for I cannot get because I am a permanent resident but I need to be a citizen. I am not interested in officer because of student loans (officers are not eligible for loan repayment) and time commitment.

I have narrowed it down to these two branches one of the biggest reasons being that their loan repayment plan more than covers my almost $20k in student loans.

I have heard the worst things about the Army and hear nothing but high praise for the Air force and the Navy.

From my bit of research I am leaning toward navy because I hear they treat their people better and they have better living conditions relative to the army. In addition to that many of the jobs on the navy's website which are open to enlisted seem like jobs that are resume worthy and would help me find a job in the business/finance field. Yes, I do know you do not always get the job that you want or are told you are going to get.

The only reason I'm still thinking about army as an option is because I hear and see that their path to promotion on average seems to be faster and I think that too would look good on a resume and especially an application to graduate school.

  • Where can I find historical daily returns on specific stocks?

I am doing a project involving portfolio analysis. The only problem is that I didn't track the daily performance of two specific stocks NFLX and VITC.

I wanted to know if there was a website that had the daily historical returns of specific stocks not just the index.

  • Laptop price comparisons ?

I am looking into this laptop, I THINK I have made my choice I wanted to know if I should hold out till end of december (i don't need this until jan 20 or so) or buy it now.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9077...

I wanted to know if you all could point me to some REPUTABLE online dealers who are selling this same computer so that I can compare prices.

I am open to other suggestions. I think this computer is probably more than enough computer for the class I am using it for and for other business applications once I finish school.

I just need it for excel worksheets, word documents, powerpoints, etc. I will also be using this for my MCAT practice program, sims, and rollercoaster tycoon. When I spoke with best buy and circuit city sales people they told me I don't need a seirous gaming computer to play those two games. Since I'm not a serious gamer thats not really important to me anyways. .

    any suggestions would be helpful

  • What is a good online brokerage firm?

I would like the opinion of experienced on line traders what brokerage firms they liked the most in terms of ease of use, fees, researching tools, and overall help.

I have about $5,000 to start investing and want to do it before I get out of school.

  • Divorce and spliting assets agree or disagree stay at home mom/dad.?

I am kind of heated over a discussion of Alex Rodriguez's wife Cynthia possibly divorcing him over his triste with madonna who I hear is now getting a divorce.

Now from what I understand from seeing a documentary on espn they both say HE courted her. She was reluctant but eventually gave in. Fast foward to about 2006-2007. Five years of marriage, two kids, and atleast one affair we know of other than maddonna she is possibly going to divorce him.

People kept saying she is a goldigger and she didn't make that money so she is entitled to that money. Alex is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and she probably doesn't need half but she is entittled to something. I for the life of me cannot understand how anyone can argue she, a stay at home mother who put her career on hold, is entittled to nothing. She may not have made that money but she sacraficed a career to raise her children. If he didn't want to lose milliosn he should have listn to jeter and not gotten married.

  • Do you know anyone that grew up outside the united states that doesn't know ATLEAST 2 languages.?

I was curious. I ask this because I know so many people that grew up outside of this country and know atleast 2 different languages and are fluent in them.

I don't think some people in this country realize how important and valuable it is to know atleast 2 languages even if you are only intermediate in one of them.

Once I finish my bachelor's degree I plan on going to the peacecorps hopefully the dominican republic or bolivia or another spanish speaking country from the list. In the meantime I and learning spanish free through this website:

  • Good waysfor college student to build credit?

What is a good way to build credit besides a credit card? (although I could take that route).

I would consider myself to be a financially fruga person I am very careful about my spending and have no debt except a few thousand in student loans.

What I wanted to know is how do I build credit now while I'm still in school (don't have to pay loans back till school is done) other than using a credit card.

  • What is a good online stock trading broker?

I am currently with sharebuilder, but I do not have any money in my portfolio simply because right now I'm learning by reading their website and some books namely "stock investing for dummies."

Anyways from some opinions I have heard about sharebuilder is that it is a great place for the beginning stock trader to begin but some of the drawbacks mentioned were that they have high fees.

I wanted to know from anyone that is a novice, intermediate, or very experienced online stock trader which brokers they have used, the pros and cons to each one (ease of use, reasonable fees), and ultimately which broker they currently use.

  • Mixed Race blacks. .?

I have a question about the categorization of blacks in this country. I was reading something on a messageboard that talked about what if Obama was the first black president. Then a guy says "Isn't he half black. .why does being 1/2 black automatically make you black. " He cited Tiger woods as a "black" man that the "black" community claims as their own even though he is mixed race.

Then I'm thinking to myself there are MANY blacks in the americas and in this country that are over 50% black but they are not 100% black . . but yet why are they considered black?

More simply put why is it that some people have a problem with biracial blacks being categorized as blacks but don't have a problem categorizing a black that may be 30-40% white or indian as black (there are many blacks and whites in this country that have african european and amerindian ancestry). . or any other black that may look black (tiger woods) but aremultiracial.
