  • 6 1/2 month old...Waking every hour, crying?

Benji does fine during the day, happy as can be. But when its night time, he becomes a little terror! He wakes every hour or so, screaming. I give him a bottle, and he is sated for a little...but it repeats itself all over again, an hour later!

What do you think is going on?

Up until now, he slept pretty well, on his own in his own crib, during the night...waking only once or twice.

  • Baby keeps rolling onto tummy during sleep and wakes himself up! Help?

My son just turned 5 months old. For the past couple of weeks, he keeps rolling onto his tummy during sleep, and wakes himself up because of it. He is on his tummy, and haven't figured out that he does know how to roll back onto his back...so he thinks he is stuck and gets frustrated. I am also concerned by this because he does this after his night time feeding as well.

Anyone else experience this with their baby? Is there anything I can do? Should I be worried?

  • Please....I need your advice!?

As I previously posted, my son is 4 months and 3 weeks old. He is now the master of flopping from his back to his tummy (during sleep, especially). However, after having flopped to his tummy, he gets stuck! He starts trying to crawl or scoot, but to no avail. Ben then starts crying in frustration. This totally interrupts his sleep (and mine!)....

Is there anything I can do? Anyone else experience this? Does the baby outgrow this?

  • Baby sleeping position questions!?!?!?

My son is now 4 months and 3 weeks old. Just over the weekend, he started to flop himself from lying on his back to his tummy--when he is trying to settle himself down to sleep! He started trying to do crawling/scooting motions. Since he is not strong enough yet, he gets frustrated and starts to cry. He can sit "assisted", but haven't been sitting on his own just yet.

    My questions are:

    1. Is this normal behavior?

    2. Isn't it a bit too soon? I thought babies had to be able to sit unassisted first, before they learned how to crawl?

  • Questions about 3-4 month growth spurt?

Benjamin is 3 months and 3 weeks old, and appears to be in a growth spurt. He is restless & fussy all day, and at night, he is drinking a full bottle (4 oz) of formula every couple of hours. His usual night routine was usually a 4 oz bottle every 4-5 hours.

    I have the following questions:

    1. How long do these growth spurts last?

    2. Should I just give him more formula from now on? Or will he go back to his old routine?

    3. Did you see a change in napping and sleeping patterns on your little one when they went through a growth spurt?

  • Advice on helping my son sleep better?

Benji is 3 1/2 months old. My little guy just doesn't ever want to sleep! He takes like 20 minute power naps and then is up again--bright eyed... When he finally gets tired, he fights the sleepyness. In addition, he gets little episodes where he wakes up from sleep with his hands reaching up, open palmed...as if he felt he was falling or something.

How can I get him to nap better doing the day, and to sleep better doing the night?

    4. Is it o' so different from the other commercial (non-organic) brands?

  • Questions about Bumbo, portable booster seats, and activity mats!?

I have a 2 1/2 month old. He is inquistive, and wants to be propped up or held all the time. I am considering a few items to purchase...please tell me your opinions on these, and for how long you used them.

    1. Bumbo (or Bebe Pod)...I heard that it helps infants learn to sit up. But is a Bumbo seat really necessary? It doesn't look too comfortable to me...what is your experience? Did the baby like it?

    2. When did you find portable booster seats useful?

    3. What is the best activity mat? Money is not an issue...I just want one that my son would be entertained in, and that he can use for months to come.

    Thanks for your input!

  • After the baby drops, how long did it take you to go into labor?

I am currently 31 weeks, and the baby has dropped...the head is already down and he is putting a tremendous amount of pressure on my pubic bone. It hurts so much it feels like someone is trying to split it into two. It is extremely uncomfortable to walk or to turn in bed. Getting in and out of cars is excruciating.

Am I dropping too early? Is this normal? Does it mean the baby will come early?

When did your baby drop? How did it feel for you? When did you go into labor?

  • I think my baby has dropped...when did yours drop?

I am exactly 31 weeks pregnant...and I think the baby has dropped. At the last OBGYN visit, the doctor said his head is already down. He didn't appear to be as high, and I am breathing a little easier. However, I am feeling a tremendous amount of pressure "down there"...especially the pubic bone...it feels like someone is trying to crack it in two. Is that normal?

I am also wondering when other expectant mothers felt the drop, and how it feels for them physically.

Is dropping this early okay? Does this mean the baby may come early? I am feeling very paranoid.

  • To new and expecting moms...a baby registry question?

I am currently 18 weeks with my first child, and will hopefully find out the sex of the baby next week. I am starting to work on my gift registry (some family has indicated that they wanted to get us baby stuff for the holidays so that we can get the nursery done early).

    What things are a must?

    What was the most useful?

    What was completely useless?

  • At 8 Weeks Pregnant, Is This Normal?

I am currently a little over 8 weeks pregnant, and my nausea is getting more severe, and I am experiencing mild cramps still. No spotting or bleeding, praise God. Is the nausea and cramps normal at 8 weeks? When will it go away?

Also, my tummy is starting to show a bit. I have an average frame, and narrow hips. My husband and colleagues are commenting on it already. My clothes a tighter around the middle and not as comfortable now. Is it gas, or is it the baby? I thought people didn't start showing until later in the pregnancy?

I had my prenatal OBGYN visit at 6 weeks, and won't be back there for another few weeks.

  • For mothers of twins...or those pregnant with twins...?

I am about 6 weeks, and just starting to read up on pregnancy. I don't have an Obgyn appointment until next tuesday. But I have a few (just curious) questions:

    1. When and how did you know you were expecting twins?

    2. Does it feel different than being pregnant with just 1?

    3. Do you gain weight sooner and start showing sooner?

    4. Does having twins make the pregnancy higher risk?

    5. Stupid question, but does carrying twins make you few twice as sick as having just one? LOL.

  • Couple of questions about symptoms and hcg testing?

I am currently about 6 weeks pregnant, and of course very excited. It is my first pregnancy, so I guess I am not sure how I am suppose to feel. My first OB/GYN appointment won't be until next week.

Question 1: I have symptoms off an on. The morning sickness hits me like a ton of bricks one day, and vanishes the next. I get some cramps and "twinges" off an on, usually for no more than 10 minutes at a time. Is this normal? I would have thought I would be consistently experiencing the same symptoms, but so far that is not true.

Question 2: I read on this board that people are asking about hcg levels. How do you test this? Is it primarily done at home or is this a doctor's office type thing?

    2 AnswersPregnancy1 decade ago
  • 2 BFP!!! I am excited, but.....

I was late about 3 days before I decided to test. I tested yesterday and today. Both ended up with a faint pink line in the window--which I am taking as a positive.

My questions are, are false positives possible and are they common? Besides making an appointment for a doctor and taking prenatals, is there something else I should be doing or avoid doing? When are miscarriages the most likely?
