Is there any evidence that using a cell phone increases a person's chances of getting struck by lightning?
During a thunderstorm of course. My g/f insists it is true. I have my doubts.

My dog smacks her lips when she lays down to go to sleep. I think I have done it before. Why do animals/people do this?
1 AnswerOther - Health1 decade agoAre people genetically pre-disposed to be religous?
When I was a kid we went to church on a semi-regular basis. To this day I can't remember any specific lessons/stories/sermons that the preacher gave us. I usually just daydreamed and dozed off.
I consider myself a moral person. I always try to do the right thing and consider other people's points of view. Yet, I don't feel that religon had anything to do with. I think it's more of my just following the example my parents set for me. Yes, they were religous (not so much my dad as my mom), but they were never "preachy" towards me. They just set a good example.
Also, I've never understood a lot about Christianity, or any other religon for that matter. When people say things like "You need to reaffirm your relationship with God", I really don't know what that means. How do you do that? I guess faith in something that isn't tangible doesn't come easy for me.
Anyway, that got me wondering. It seems so easy for other people I think maybe they're just genetically predisposed.
5 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoWho wants to go on vacation with me, to Iraq?
Now that it's a free country and that Saddam Hussein is no longer the bloodthirsty ruler there. I'm getting sick of the lib media not reporting any of the good things going on there. All the schools and hospitals being built. The strong democracy that George Bush has given them. The magnificent infrastructure with clean water and unlimited power supply. Not to mention the CHEAP gas. Man, I want to live there.
Don't worry about all those bombings, their just in the poor areas anyway.
Come on! Who wants to go?
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat do you think about this scenario regarding the new supreme court ruling?
The supreme court just ruled that the police no longer have to knock on your door if they have a warrant for your arrest. They can basically just come and kick the door in.
Let's say the police have probable cause and get a warrant for someone's arrest. So they come and kick the door in which freaks out the occupant who then grabs his shotgun and blows the cop away. Let's also say that it turns out that the probable cause was in error, that the occupant of the house did no wrong, or there was a case of mistaken identity. Or, maybe it was the guy's oldest son, who had nothing to do with any illegal activities.
Does the occupant/shooter get in big trouble for now killing a cop? He does have the right to bear arms and protect his property. It seems to me that the police would be protecting themselves in a sense by knocking on the door.
I know this is an unlikely scenario and the police probably aren't going to go on a door bashing spree. But there's always plenty of what if?
