I ask, because it seems like all the guys I know never even look at me...I'm just the nerd girl. They all like the girls who's shorts are to tight and who's hair is perfectly bleached and dip dyed. I just feel left out :/ But I'm proud of who I am...

A tall, gorgeous boy walks up to me, and holds out his hand. “May I have this dance?”

“I can’t dance. No…sorry.” I sigh and look towards my teachers, who look disappointed. My best friend even looks disappointed.

“Come on! It’s alright…I’ve got two left feet too!” He gives me his devilish smirk that I’ve come to love.

“I don’t dance, honestly. And you should go dance with Brella, or Emily or someone…” Someone more popular, skinnier and prettier than me. Then he did something that surprised me. I thought that he would have just walked away, to dance with one of the girl’s I’d said. Instead, he took my hand and looked me in the eyes.

“But I want to dance with you. Not Brella, or anyone else.” I couldn’t look at him, because my face had surely gone an awful shade of red.

“R-really?” I stuttered lightly.

“Yeah, really. Come on. It’ll be fine!” Cue not another smirk, but a genuine smile. The song ended, and we hadn’t danced yet. “Next slow song, promise?”

Shaking and sweating, I managed a simple ‘Okay’. As it happened, the next song was a slow song. I’m yours, by Jason Mraz sounded from the speakers.

Cade gave me this look that read, ‘Come on. It’s not going to kill you.’ He took my hand again and after the suggestion that we go on stage for the contest, lead me up onto the stage. When we got there, he started dancing, large hand still holding mine.

“I-I uh. I d-don’t know what to do.” I was still shaking. I hated being the center of attention. Cade showed me the steps, saying them out loud for a minute.

Not to mention everyone was probably laughing at me. Destroying my fantasy for a moment, a bunch of thoughts bounced around in my head. I bet they’re all laughing. Laughing at some joke. The joke being that Cade would actually ask me to dance. I knew it must’ve been a setup! Ugh. And why does he keep looking at me? He’s so gorgeous. It’s not fair. There’s no future and this means nothing.

As if reading my mind, his grip on my hands tightened and he said quietly. “Who cares what they think. I don’t, so you shouldn’t either. You’re beautiful.” Can he be any more chivalrous? Suddenly the song ended, and I was quick to start leaving. The look on his face was disappointment, but I couldn’t stay. My other best friend appeared from no where and announced that we were to stay for another song. Great. Rhythm Of Love, by the Plain White T’s, one of my favorite songs, played softly.

I went back to Cade, and he took my hands again. I still couldn’t look him in the eyes. He must’ve sensed my discomfort, because he started singing. His voice alone sent shivers down my back. I felt bad for not being able to look at him. He was too sweet.

“S-sorry.” I whispered. I was surprised that he could even hear me.

“It’s fine. Seriously, don’t worry about it. Just watch my shoes.” I was still having trouble understanding the dance. I nodded slightly.

“Blue eyes, deep like the sea…they roll back when she’s laughing at me.” I dared a glance up at him and saw he was still looking at me. My own blue eyes fell back to his shoes. I got lost in the scent of him being so close, and almost didn’t know that the song had ended.

“S-sorry for being so awkward. B-but I warned you that I don’t dance.” I tried a smile.

“You were great! Seriously, you’re a fast learner.” I shook my head slightly. “Stop it. You are. And you’re beautiful. Remember that.” He gave me a bear hug and we went back to our respective groups.

My Prince Charming finally made an appearance in the story of my life.

I've been considering writing him a note.

I'm just the chubby nerd girl that everyone ignores, and he took the time to ask me to dance, put up with my awkwardness and actually dance with me.

Hey there! :) I'm an (almost) fourteen year old girl going into high school next year, and I was just wondering a couple of things.

What are you're current/last grades of this year?

I know, I'm only (almost) 14, and there's no chance that he'd ever want to be with me, but I honestly think I might be in love. I'm not obsessed with him, but every time I see him with Brella (this girl who's been trying to be better than me since the first grade, and succeeding.) my heart hurts. And when he talks to me I blush and stutter. He makes me so...flustered.

But this isn't a recent, little crush. This has been going on since the last school year. As soon as I saw him on the first day of school this year, all my feelings return.

He just...he knows how to talk to me. And when we danced last night, he sang to me and helped me dance (I have two left feet xD) and told me I was beautiful. I still don't understand why he danced with me because him and Brella were on a 'date'. But it was a dream come true.

But I honestly think I might be in love with him? I know everyone says that teenagers can't be in love, that I'm to young, that there's no way he'd ever like me...

So last night was the school dance. The guy that I've had a huge crush on for the past year and a half went with this girl who has been beating me at everything (sports, any sort of competition and even stealing my friends) and they were actually kind of cute together :/

Anyway, before the dance was over Cade came over to me and was like, "May I have this dance?" And he was gentlemanly and waited for my awkwardness and he was just amazing. He taught me what to do and we danced for two and a half songs and he sang and it was like a dream come true.

But after we finished dancing on stage, he gave me a bear hug and I went off to my girlfriends. I couldn't breathe, my heart was beating over time, and I was running a 100* fever. Just from dancing with him!

What could have caused my lack of breathing, double heart beat, and fever? It was just (the most romantic and beautiful moment of my life) a dance.

So the back story is that I've had a crush on this boy since last year because I can see the real him. Not the stupid douchy facade he usually wears. He's so sweet and funny and he's just amazing. But we roll with different crowds. He's popular, whereas I'm a nerd. Not a fake glasses wearing hipster, but a real nerd who will debate whether Marvel or DC is better for three hours straight.

Nicholas Dean ~ Always loved the name Nicholas, and Dean is after Dean Winchester ;)

Eleanor Jean ~ Eleanor is so cute and classy, and Jean is a name passed down in my family forever xD (Seriously though. My great-grandmother's name is Jean, my grandmother's name is half Jean, (Madsen + Jean = Madalene), my mother's middle name is Jean and my middle name is Jean. So I definitely want my first born girl to have Jean as her middle name. :)

Alexander Ian ~ Just love the way this one flows, and Ian came to me after I read the Host :)
