  • How is the Ruger P90 for a concealed carry. Been Carrying M1991A1?

I am a big guy, but my M1991A1 Colt is worth too much to keep carrying. Looking to buy another .45 simply because I have 5000 rounds of .45 ACP and never cared for the smalller calibers. Least I would shoot is .45 or .357 mag. I like to know the subject is going down hard if I have to "pull" my concealed weapon.

  • Tell me about the Marlin model 60 (post 1980) 22 LR?

I know a lot about Marlins, but never fooled around with anything other than a model 80 or better. My parents were stuck and I stopped at a pawn shop to get a tow strap when they called and said some boys got them out. I spotted an almost new looking Model 60 with a BSA 6X scope on it. They wanted 130 USD and I got it for 90 USD. What can you guys tell me about the gun that I don't know from it's long history plus the scope which I know nothing .points go to the best experiennces...

  • Did Jim Zumbo ruin his career?

This question comes from some NRA/USSA discusions where AR/AK shooters went ballisitic, no pun intended. Zumbo has done so much for hunters and shooters, I just had to ask. I've even discussed my dislike of the weapons for use as hunting rifles and have been attacked(even though I do have an AR-15 I do not hunt with) for my position. Zumbo apologized and has since engaged "Uncle Ted" Ted Nugent for an exclusive AR only hunt. Do you really think someone who has helped us with so many hints and procedures, as well as entertainment, has "cooked his goose" by offending the AR/AK entusiasts? Are they/you that dedicated to one wepon? I mean, really, would you crucify an educated sportsman for bad-mouthing the Remington 700 the same way? (By the way, after my Ruger M77's my 700's are gold to me.)

  • Leaving to go hunting tomorrow. My clients asked, as I have seen here, how often do you actually kill a deer?

I wanted to put this up because everyone thinks hunters shoot everyday in the stand. I sometimes do not shoot 10 out of 12 days on the stand, unless I have clients. I, personally, may hunt 60 days and shoot something on two of those days. It is not because I don't have the opportunity. I could shoot a deer every day if I wanted to.

I want to know your thoughts on hunts vs. attempted and confirmed kills.

People just don't understand that we can sit there and watch dozens of deer go by without shooting. I know my reasons. Let's hear yours...

I zeroed in and raised the point of impact to 1.5 inches at 50 yards. Can anyone give me an idea of the point of impact at 100 yards and 200 yards given this information?

    Thanks

  • I have a job offer I don't really want and another group is asking me to wait until they can make an offer

I am in education and work on a contractual basis. My current contract has ended and they don't intend to fund the position next year.

Meanwhile, I have an offer to work with a much younger group of students than I am used to working with and don't necessarily want to work with them. Another district is interested, but is not ready to make any offers yet. Their superintendant asked me to wait for them, but at this point, any contract is better than none at all.

The newer district will be offering a contract for the age group I am more able to work with, but I may have to make a decision on the contract I HAVE been offered before the one I WANT is out there. How can I stall the first district long enough to see the other guys' offer without losing the offer I already have? I've already asked the "good guys" to hurry up, but they are swamped with end of year business.

Any decision I make could affect me for years to come. Any serious suggestions would be appreciated.

  • What are some inexpensive laptops for a person who just wants email?

My father takes a lot of cruises and wants an inexpensive "no frills" laptop with wifi. Any suggestions and prices? I'd like to get him one pretty soon.

  • My best friend's kids are driving me crazy. I love them, but sometimes I want to do things without them.?

My friend and I have hung out over 20 years together, before he even got married and had children. We do a lot of things together and I often go with them and their kids. I am like an uncle to them, but sometimes I just want to hang out with my buddy. I am divorced and don't have children. I do have a girlfriend, but she works for my friend's wife and they aren't close. Is it wrong to just want to go fishing or something with my bud?

  • Should my girlfriend help out on dates after 2 years of dating?

We go out to a lot of events and I often include her children. I enjoy being able to do this, but I am a teacher and don't make much money. I am now starting to struggle with finances because about 20% of my salary is going to taking her out all the time. She is very traditional and I am not sure how she would feel about this issue.
