  • Travel from Dublin to Edinburgh?

I'm going to be on a school tour this summer. I would like to ditch the tour group for a couple of days and try and play golf at St Andrews. It looks like the best place for me to leave the group would be in Dublin and meet back with them when they go through Edinburgh.

    Two Questions

1 - What the best way to get from Dublin to Edinburgh (with time estimates)?

2- How to get from Edinburgh to St Andrews?

    Thanks for your help.

  • Do you have any good golf jokes?

Thought this was funny and wanted to share.

Ed and Dorothy met while on vacation, and Ed fell head over heels in love with her. On the last night of his vacation, the two of them went to dinner and had a serious talk about how they would continue the relationship.

"It's only fair to warn you, I'm a total golf nut," Ed said to his lady friend. "I eat, sleep, and breathe golf, so if that's a problem, you'd better say so now."

Dorothy responded, "If we're being honest with each other, here goes...I'm a hooker."

"I see," Ed replied, and was quiet for a moment. Then he added, "You know, it's probably because you're not keeping your wrists straight when you tee off."

  • Anyone played St. Andrews?

I'm going on a school tour this summer to Ireland/Scottland/England. I want to ditch the tour for a day and play St. Andrews - The Old Course. Can I be a single and get on fairly easily? Do they rent clubs? I may have to stay overnight by myself are their any hostels around? Any help would be great. Any websites with info would be nice too. Thanks, Ted

  • 150 yards to the pin what club do you hit.?

Okay here's the deal. Two questions:

1st - You are in the middle of the fairway next to the 150 yard marker, the elevation is flat, no wind, good grass, and good lie. What club do you hit to get the ball in the middle of the green?

2nd - Out of ten hits from this position. How many times would you get it on the green?

  • Golf collectors?

Just curious what golf "stuff" do you collect?

    How big is your collection?

    Do you have any criterion?

I collect metal ball markers and score cards.

Both collections are from where I've played.

Around 60 ball markers and 120 score cards.

  • Thumb up or thumb down?

I was looking at the answers and see the thumb up and thumb down. How do you mark them as a good answer or bad answer?
