  • Is the Constitution taught in school anymore?

Serious question for anyone who knows. It's been years since I was in high school.

Is the Constitution of the United States taught in high school now? And if it is, is the actual text of the Constitution used, or is it just writings telling you what it says?

  • Error in Google Maps - how to fix it?

Google Maps: There is a little town in TX called Olmito. The zip code is 78575.

When I enter just the zip code - Google Maps gives the correct location.

When I enter "Olmito, TX 78575" it gives some place in the middle of nowhere, about 500 miles away.

1 - How to fix it?

2 - How did it happen? Can someone have intentionally done this?

  • Car overheats - sometimes.?

Live in San Antonio - so yes, it gets pretty hot. Our pickup (2006 Chevy Colorado 5 cyl 4x4) gets hot sometimes while the A/C is on. I could understand this if idling on the hottest days of the summer, but it's also happening sometimes when going highway speeds (on hot days).

Has about 100,000 miles and I expect it is the original engine coolant, hoses and thermostat.

Is it just the hot summer? Is it just the antifreeze and hoses? Or should I change it all at once? I'm kinda leaning towards that if I'm going to take the hoses off anyhow.

I guess I just want to know if any experts out there think it could be something else...

Engine coolant level is good and does not look dirty, nor does it have oil in it - and the oil is good too.

  • Eminent domain -of mortgages - San Bernadino, CA?

I read a while back that in San Bernadino, CA, the local government was thinking of taking mortgages via eminent domain. I have my opinions about it, but would like to hear others.

What do you think of this use of the Eminent Domain by San Bernadino (or any other government?)

  • Is this spam - and what do they benefit?

I posted a vehicle on Craigslist. I got a response email from someone. In the "From" line, it shows a name. We'll say "Joe". I put my cursor over it and get an email "BillG@hotmail.com". And when I hit Reply, the email that comes on the "To" line is different. It still shows "Joe", but when I place my cursor over the name, it shows the email to be "Joe4327Green@googlemail.com"

Does this happen because someone is hiding their identity, and if so, what do they stand to gain? Should I automatically determine that it is spam, or is there another logical reason for it?

  • What fishing rod should I get?

I have two (old - from the 50's) Ambasadeur 5000 reels that I've been using with 6'6" MH casting rods. I like to fish at the coast (Texas, Rockport - Goose Island) usually from a pier, sometimes wading. I like to use the Berkley Gulp shrimp either alone or under a small cigar popping cork. I've been thinking I need a lighter or longer (or both) rod to be able to cast this terminal tackle further. Looking at Bass Pro Shops, I see rods that are MH that throw 1/4 oz on up, yet the M rods start at 3/8 oz. (I forgot which rods these were, but same brand and model basically) I guess I don't understand the difference between fast-med-slow action and L-ML-M-MH-H..... iIs it the "action" that allows you to throw a lighter lure? And if so, where do I find that on the rods I see at the store for sale?

Fish for trout, flounder, redfish - not really worried about hooking a monster (never have done it - if I do, then it'll just break my line and I'll have a story to tell) just regular sized fish, but need to lift them up to the pier... any suggestions on rods (maybe up to $130-ish) I also use some Shimano spinning outfits too, but enjoy the bait-caster more.

  • Democrats - Don't let Washington Republicans take over your district!?

Democrats - Do you want a "George Bush III" to run things in your local district? How about Jon McCain? Maybe you'd like Sarah to make the decisions for what happens in your home town?

That is what will be happening in less than four years if the current vote on expanding powers of the federal government goes through. You see, this weekend's vote isn't between people who want health and people who don't - it's between people who want the FEDERAL government to control things and people who want localized control of things.

Right now, there is a definite Left leaning tone coming out of Washington - so you think it's OK if "Today's Washington" controls your locale. Be assured that in less than 4 years, there will be a decidedly RIGHT leaning tone coming from Washington. Is that who you want running your town?

My Question: Do you want Republicans (McCain, Bush III, Palin) from Washington deciding what happens in your home town in a few years?

Call your congressman or congresswoman TODAY to tell them whether you want a larger federal involvement in local issues or not.

  • Can this engine work?

I've got a 2003 Ford Explorer. Engine got ruined. 4.0, Flex Fuel, 4WD.

Found a 2007 Explorer engine. 4.0, with transmission.

I have the VIN numbers for both - with that, where can I find out if I can replace mine with the 2007?

I've heard some people say that the newer engine might have different sensors and wouldn't work - but they did not know how to tell for sure.

    Any ideas?

  • Baitcast reel - Why turn sideways at end of cast?

On a variety of websites, I have read that when casting with a bait caster, at the end of the cast the reel should be turned "sideways" with the handle on top. Why is this?

  • How to get a key for an auctioned car?

I'm going next week to bid on a car at a police auction. They don't have keys which presents several problems...

Vehicle has digital odometer, so I cannot get the mileage reading. I cannot start it to see how it runs and it will make it a bit harder to tow it home as well.

Is there a way, using the VIN # to get a key made prior to the auction?

  • Where can I locate a new or rebuilt 4.0L Ford engine?

My 2003 Explorer engine died. Mechanic wants to replace with used one and some shops say that the refurbished ones have problems. Is there a place to get a new engine for this vehicle? I tried Google and get a bunch of places that want to ship me a used one...
