Here's what happened:

We received a letter from an attorney on behalf of someone claiming that his client, while walking in front of our house slipped and fall because of sidewalks being broken etc. It says that it happened about 15 months ago but the claim was submitted just last month.

We looked at our insurance policy and during that time we didn't have insurance. here's why: at that time, the house had 2 owners and it was being transferred to only one owner: us. So there was a lapse between getting new insurance and previous one being canceled. The house is located in Bronx, NY. Do we have to pay for the damage? If so, how much would that be? Our current insurance won't cover this because this happened before their policy started. Please help! We're really worried! thank you.

Does anybody now the procedure's for obtaining a IRS certified copy of a tax return? I'm co-sponsoring someone for a visa, apparently the embassy wants to see an "IRS-certified" copy of my tax return?

Oh crap.. I have to take the Compass Math exam tomorrow. I've been out of school for a while (well over 2 years now). I've been reviewing for a while now. Did anyone here take the compass math exam? Was it hard? Math is not one of my forte, if you will. I'm stressed out!

My sister's ex-husband keeps sending me emails harassing and blaming me for their relationship breakup which took place about 4 years ago. When their relationship ended, they went through all the paper work etc and it was mutual a decision. But as of recently he started sending me emails, telling me all kinds of things and essentially that I was the reason for their breakup.

Would the information from the emails he has sent thus far be sufficient enough to pursue legal actions against this person for harassing me "electronically"?

Is this a good time to buy stocks for long term investment? Prices have gone down for most of the stocks considering that the country is in a recession. However, would this be a good time to buy stocks and be hopeful that the price(s) will go up when economy gets back into a better shape?

I so wish I could do that. My life would be completely different. Anyways.. what about you?

Need your suggestion on this one: I'm buying a used car. Its a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant ES (Silver) with a little over 48k miles. It comes with standard features: radio, cd player etc. Car is fully automatic: power windows, auto transmission etc.

Now the seller is asking for $7K. The KBB value is around $7K as well. What would be a reasonable offer I should make ? My location is NYC, fyip.
