  • Can you have more than one writ for garnishment against you at one time?

In the state of Michigan...let's say you have a writ for garnishment against you to collect your Michigan tax returns. Can a second writ be filed against you from a different company to collect from your bank accounts? Just curious.

  • Garnishment in Michigan?

After buying a lemon, I wrote the finance company I bought my car through and did a voluntary repossession after finding a better car. The dealer had refused to deal with the repairs and the value of repairs was greater than the amount owed on the car. So about 9 months after I gave the car back, they sent me papers for court. I got papers today saying i'm being garnished but here's the thing. I'm a stay at home mom to 3 children, one of which is disabled. My husband works but this debt was premarital and his name is nowhere on the contract. I have absolutely no income except for my child's SSI. They sent papers saying they are taking our savings account that is in my husbands name and my maiden name, which consists of $1.19. If it is a non-periodic garnishment, can they file another writ after this one is expired even though I have nothing? Can they garnish my husband for my premarital debt? How does this work?

  • Can anyone give me a heads up about labor being induced?

I've had 2 other children prior to this pregnancy and both of them were born a couple weeks early but not preterm and both were born super fast (3-4 hours each). I'm 39 weeks now and my doctor says if I haven't had this baby by tomorrow he's going to schedule an induction for this week, which i've never had done before. I've been told he uses Cervidil. Has anyone on here been induced before and if so, can you tell me what it was like for you? I'm a little nervous since i've never had to have this done before. Thanks in advance!

  • Is the swine flu really as bad as we're made to believe?

I'm getting a little worried. My 5 year old daughter came home sick from school last Monday and I haven't sent her to school since. She has a runny nose, slight fever at times, and a cough. 3 days ago, I started getting a sore throat, which I still have, i'm stuffy, have a runny nose, and now developing a cough. I'm 8 months pregnant. There have been cases of swine flu in my daughter's school. Should I consider keeping her home longer? Do these even sound like swine flu symptoms?

  • Anyone from the Grand Rapids, MI area?

My husband and I have been going to Grand Rapids for the past year for doctor appointments and we're not too familiar with the area. We've been looking for malls to visit. I've heard there's a pretty large one down there off 28th St but we can't find it. Can anyone tell us where it might be or what it's called?

  • Baby's in breech position and....?

I'm almost 33 weeks pregnant. My doctor told me that only about 10% of babies are still in breech by 30 weeks and if she doesn't turn on her own, he'll either have to try to turn her or do a c-section. My question is for anyone else who might have had this problem or knows someone who has. What are the chances of my baby still turning on her own and if she doesn't, how does the doctor turn the baby? I'm getting really nervous about it as my due date gets closer. Help!

  • What happens if you don't file an income tax with the IRS?

My ex-husband told me he didn't file his taxes last year and he probably won't this year either. He's over $2,000 behind in back child support and I think he knows there's a possibility of them handing it over to me to help him catch up. He does not owe them money as far as I know. What will happen if he fails to file them yet another year?

  • Blood tests in pregnancy?

Ok, so this is probably going to sound a little silly being that i'm already the mother of one child. I'm pregnant with my second child and i'm going in Friday for the wonderful exam and bloodwork that comes with bearing children. When they take all that blood in the beginning of your pregnancy, what tests are they actually running on it? They took 3 viles in my last one so i'm pretty sure they test a few different things. Anybody know?

  • Mommies: What foods did you find absolutely disgusting when you were pregnant?

Anybody who's been pregnant knows there are certain foods that make your stomach turn and you can't even stand to look at them when you're pregnant. When I was going through my first pregnancy, I couldn't stand eggs, pork, or anything with tomato sauce in it. What were the foods that you couldn't stand?

  • Mommy's who had morning sickness during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant with my second child. I had horrible morning sickness for about 4 weeks with my first child. I was up every single morning throwing up and felt sick most of the day. I thought it might pass me by this time but unfortunately about 4 days ago it hit. It's not too bad like the last time but still bad enough. What did you do to help ease your morning sickness and how well did it work for you?

  • Question for pregnant women or moms out there?

I'm six weeks pregnant and I started having bad anxiety attacks early Saturday morning. I'm pretty sure the attacks are a mix between hormone changes and events going on in my life, mostly those that circle around my job. I went to the ER and they pretty much pushed me out the door and told me to contact my OB, so I contacted my OB yesterday morning and he was in delivery, double booked, and on call, so they referred me to my family doctor. She ended up prescribing me prozac. Before getting the prescription filled I double checked with my OB who said he prefers I don't take anything at all but he also said the prozac is alright if I absolutely need to take it. I don't know what to do. What would you do if you were in this situation? If I don't take the meds, I have to continue dealing with the anxiety in the workplace but if I do take the meds, I feel like i'm putting my baby at risk. I had this same problem with my last pregnancy and ended up quitting my job because of it...

  • Tips for potty training my toddler?

My 3 year old daughter absolutely refuses to go to the potty anywhere other than her pants! I've been trying to potty train her for about 9 months now and nothing seems to be having an effect on her. I take her in and sit her on the toilet and she sits there for about 1 minute and says she's done, when she hasn't even gone. If I try to make her sit there a little longer, she throws a fit. She knows when she has to go but she won't let me know; she'll just go in her pull-up and then tell me. She has the concept down of sitting on the potty, she just won't go on the potty. What methods did you find most effective when potty training your toddler? Anyone have any ideas that might make her want to actually go? I'm just about at my wits end!!
