  • Any you bikers good at math?

I read in here last night that a Harley only gets 15% of its horsepower to the rear wheel. I've put slightly modified 88" and 95" Harley motors on dynos and came up with between 80 and 90 horsepower. I know a new 1200 Sporster puts out about 92 horsepower. If that's only 15% of the total HP, wouldn't that mean you are cranking out about 600 HP at the crank? Since I can't imagine anybody on here telling an untruth I find 600 HP very impressive. What do you think?

Does anybody know of an intercom system (Rider to passenger) that you can use without a helmet? Like maybe throat mikes and ear plugs.

  • What is gear? People keep talking about it.

I've been riding motorcycles for 50 yrs. On this site people keep saying about "gear", they say " I wear my helmet, and all the rest of the gear". What the hell are they talking about? I don't wear a helmet, but I wear boots, levis, shirt ( unless it's really hot ). And I carry a jacket with me. What more does a man need? If I had to get loaded up like a knight, I don't think it would be much fun.

  • Did you hear about J.D.?

Seems J.D. Powers was testing a new model Victory bike it's named the "Recall" anyway he wound it up to about 1500 RPM when the engine let go, knocking the front wheel off. J.D. went over the handle bars and got some road rash and trauma. The bike must be a secret prototype thing. I hear the "Recall" mentioned on their web site often, but I've never seen a picture of it. After the accident, Fuji Film, the Japanese Co. that owns Victory said they might move the company back to Japan. This could hurt Harley Davidson"s sales, ever since Victory came out with the Vision HDs Tour bike sales have gone up 38.4 or 38.7 %. I'm not sure which, but you could check with Joe B , he knows all about HD sales and stock. J.D.s doing allright, he's on a floor with other trauma patients, mostly people that have seen the Vision up close.

  • If some one is bashing your bike?

If a person knows what type of bike you ride and continually bashes it, never ,ever said anything good about that model of bike, says people are stupid idiots if you ride that kind of bike, blame you for turning them in( I don't know what that means or how to do it but it sounds like grade school snitch stuff and I don't snitch.) And then they want to be one of your contacts, what's the story behind that?

There's a rumor going around that Joe B and Little Kyle met at the gay parade and have been inseperable ever since. Maybe.

  • Did any body notice?

  • Over Head cam?

I was browsing through here and I read something from a guy named Moe B (or something like that) He said in 1999 HD came out with the Twin Cam engine. He said it was a dual overhead cam engine that HD copied of Japan. If this is true, why did HD keep the tappet blocks, and push rod covers, Would the tappets and push rods do? Isn't the advantage of OHC engines the elimanation of lifters and pushrods? Or did HD keep those covers for cosmetic purposes? OR, is this just another basher that does't know what he's talking about?

  • For HD bashers only?

In 08 HD came out with a heat management system. I thiink it's a good inovative idea. But I hear all these guys bashing it. One guy even said " Those 96" HDs will heat up going down the road and that heat system will kick in and shut one cylinder down and then you can only go like 15 MPH" Can any of you tell me exactly how this system works?

  • Are HDs junk?

I hear people say that HDs made in the USA with a few Jap parts are junk. Does that mean that Jap bikes made in the USA with all Jap parts are junkier? How's that work?
