I'm 33. I'm a housewife. I live near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I am currently owned by a DYH Amazon Parrot, a Pit Bull, a Chihuahua and a turtle. I was raised in West Point, MS and lived in Tupelo, MS for 12 years. My husband is from Los Angeles.

  • How do I make a bottle fed puppy go poop?

Ok, I am bottle feeding a puppy that is now 17 days old. She's been bottle fed since 4 days old, and I've had her since 12 days. The mother squashed 6 of the litter, and the lady needed help bottle feeding the rest, so I took one. Her eyes are now completely open, and she's a great eater, and very alert. The only problem I'm having is that she's only doing one small poop a day, if that. She pees great when I stimulate her to pee, but when I use the warm cotton ball on her rear end, she kind of grunts and really usually doesn't do anything. She stops eating and grunts occasionally too. I live in a rural area where it's hard but possible to get in touch with a vet on a weekend, but since she doesn't seem to be in any immediate distress I thought I'd check here first.

  • Can a dog be a little bit pregnant?

My husband and I have been debating this one. He says if a dog is only pregnant with one to three puppies, her pregnancy symptoms would be much less obvious than a pregnancy of say, ten puppies. I'm not so sure. Any ideas?

p.s. We don't have a pregnant dog, we were just wondering.

  • Is there any way to take Vista out of a computer and install XP?

We detest Vista, but have an XP Professional disk. Is it possible to take Vista out and install XP? I was told it was impossible, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

    Thanks!

  • MAJOR new laptop issues....?

My husband and I purchased a Dell laptop inspiron 1525 this past weekend from a rent to own place. First off, it obviously came with internet explorer. I'm not a huge fan of IE, so I installed Mozilla Firefox. When I click on the icon, absolutely nothing happens. I uninstalled and reinstalled it four times, and still get nothing. I also installed avast home edition, which installs fine, but once it's up and running it won't let me pull up anything. I mean nothing. It says I have no web connection, or there was a problem finding the page, and I may have mis typed the address. That's just from trying to open IE. So I have to disable avast just to browse. It also won't let me click a link, like when I have my yahoo messenger up and want to just click on the mail icon it gives me the same error message. It has Mcaffee antivirus on it, but keeps saying I'm not fully protected, and gives me an option to fix that. When I choose yes, I want to fix it, a white box with an M in the corner, but nothing in it pops up, and nothing happens. This is our first laptop. We're pretty good with desktops, but we've never had these kinds of problems.

    Thanks!

  • I'm having extreme jaw pain and stiffness?

This has been on and off for the last couple of years. At first it was intermittent, but has gotten worse. It's only on the right side. It is actually painful to press on the side of my jaw, and hurts really bad to wiggle it from side to side. It's even worse to try to open my mouth, and it's stiffened up to the point that a lot of times I can't even open my mouth wide enough to eat a hamburger. At first I thought it was TMJ but I don't have many of the other symptoms, just the jaw pain and migraines. Any ideas?

  • Pregnant dog's milk came in??

Ok, I've never had a dog that was pregnant before. Counting from the day she was bred (accidentally) she is due in two weeks. Here's my question...is it normal for milk to come out? She sat and accidentally pinched one, and it came out. Is this ok ? Does that mean she's due earlier than I thought? Thanks in advance for any help. To anyone who wants to put me down or flame me....I KNOW one shouldn't be irresponsible enough to have a mixed breed dog get pregnant. I work with rescue groups, so I know how many unwanted animals there are. She is a rescue that was dumped on me WHILE in heat, AFTER she had been bred. No one else wanted her, and they were going to shoot her. I have had her vetted. I am going to have her fixed. So don't yell at me.

  • I have a friend whose uterus jumped from measuring 29 weeks to 35 weeks spontaneously?

I have a friend who has been measuring according to her due date. Two weeks ago she was on target. Today, she measured 5-6 weeks ahead. What would cause a jump in growth like this?

  • What disorder could cause this degree of paranoia?

I'll try to make this short. I've been with my husband 6 years. I've never cheated, or given him reason to think I would, though we have separated a couple of times for a few months. DAILY I'm accused of cheating, or having someone in the house while he's at work. He basically comes up with scenarios in his head, and then totally believes them. He goes through the garbage looking for 'evidence' against me. He thinks men are leaving me secret codes, so even a scrap of paper with a water stain on it is suspect. He finds his OWN dirty socks and accuses them of being another man's. If someone gives me a t shirt because they don't want it, he thinks it's my boyfriend's. Last night he cleaned out my hairbrush, held the wad of hair against my head, and declared it wasn't mine. What could cause this?? I am crazy about him, but I'm at my wit's end, because he's scaring me and getting more and more abusive. How do you defend yourself against something you never did?

  • How long does heartworm treatment take?

We are attempting to adopt a dog from a rescue group. They have a couple we are interested in, but they both are heartworm positive. One is already in treatment, and the other will begin within the week. How long, once treatment is started, does it take to get them healthy? Mind you, these are young, healthy bulldogs.

  • Going through my computer......Driving me nuts!!?

Ok, I'll keep this as short and sweet as possible. My husband drives me crazy going through our computer and anyone's computer I use. He finds all my yahoo IM's, even when I don't save them to my computer. He 'encrypts' or 'deciphers the encrypting' etc...Double checks the websites I've been to. I don't have anything at all to hide, but he's very jealous and it drives me nuts having to answer 10 minutes of questions about a recipe message board. How can I erase all this or do something to stop it? (Don't say erase your history...his motto is 'no matter how many times you erase things on your computer, you never really erased it, and I WILL find it')

    Thanks

  • Red eared slider questions...?

We had a roommate move away and leave a red eared slider with us. I want to take good care of him but am clueless...He was found at about nickel or quarter size right after hurricane Katrina, so he's going on 3. He's now about the size of the palm of my hand. He's been fed small multicolored bones about 1 inch long, that resemble dog treats. I'm not really sure what the heck they are because they are in an unmarked bag. I read they were supposed to have fruit, and all kinds of other things, but he wouldn't eat any of it with several days trying him. I figured he might do better on turtle pellets, since the treats are about the same consistency as pellets, but I don't know what kind to get or how much to feed him. He has plenty of flat logs and rocks to climb in, but how many inches of water should be in his tank? What about a filter? Our old roommate had the turtle in his room, and when I found the conditions of this creature I was appalled.

  • Really weird spider...can Anyone help?

My husband flipped a dog house over Sunday, and found a spider neither of us has ever seen. It was about the size of a quarter, fat hairy legs it held close together. Black hairy head. The weird part was the bottom half of it's body was a bright kind of almost metallic blue. The male (I think) was brown, hairy and about 1 1/2 inch long.

    Thanks

  • Anyone with an Amazon Parrot.?

I have a Double Yellow Headed Amazon parrot that's almost 3. We believe she's a girl. Is anyone else's amazon being lots more noisy? I know they all make more noise in Spring. She's bein particularly obnoxious. Also trying to nip at me often when I walk by her cage. She's still being her usual sweet self when being held.

  • My roommate's dog is in heat.....?

And he pretty much leaves me holding the bag when it comes to her care. I'm with her all day til about 8 p.m. and usually the entire weekend. She became swollen and then started bleeding around the middle of last week. How long will she bleed and how long is she in danger of becoming pregnant? She's only 8 months old, so obviously we don't want her bred, plus if she had puppies I'd be the one stuck with the care.

    Thanks!!

  • Dog incessant barking....?

I babysit my neighbor's dog during the day, and her past dogs were always VERY annoying because she neglects to teach them manners, as is the case here.....when I have to put him outside on his chain to potty, or if I'm cleaning the house, whatever, he freakin barks NONSTOP at the top of his lungs while looking at the front door. It's about to drive me nuts. How can I stop him???
