Pressure pushing in my pelvis 39 weeks - what exactly is it?
The pressure and pain feels like it's in the actual bone. Is the head engaging or the position of the baby or do you get this in the run up to labour? Or something else?
Has anyone had this so badly they can't walk?
4 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoHow far apart are labour contractions at first?
I'm not in labour so please don't say call the midwife or go to hospital. I just want to know roughly how far apart your contractions were when you first noticed them for labour?
5 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoWhat were you first twinges of labour like?
People keep asking if I've had any twinges - what do they mean?
Looking back were there any signs you were in labour before you noticed the very painful contractions?
3 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoDo you get hip and pelvis pain when the head engages?
I have SPD anyway but it's never been this bad and usually goes off or ease's down after a few days but it's been getting more and more painful. It feeling like my pelvis is splitting into two - is this a sign of the head engaging?
Or am I just being hopeful seeing as I'm 38 weeks and midwife said on Thurs it hasn't engaged yet?
3 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoHow did you know when your baby's head was engaged?
Were there any tell tale signs before the midwife told you?
1 AnswerPregnancy9 years agoIf a baby turns breech at 38 weeks how long do they leave it to turn back?
I'm 99% sure my baby has turned back to being breech - got an appointment tomorrow to check but just wondering if anyones been in this situation? My notes say they offer an EVC and discussion at 36 weeks but it had gone 'head down' (or so they said) then so I didn't need it.
Will they send me for a scan to check it if they believe it's breech?
2 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoDid you notice any changes in the last few days before you went into labour?
Any changes at all in your body or routine BEFORE labour started?
Did you find it hard to sleep?
2 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoIs doing a membrane sweep part on being induced?
Do they do it when you're induced or before? Why do they do it? And usually at how many weeks?
2 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoIf your baby was head down can it turn at the end of pregnancy?
My baby was head down but not engaged at 36 wks but now its wriggled and my bump has changed shape drastically - could it now be breech? And what hapens if at my next midwife appointment she says it's breech will they wait for it to see if it turns head down again?
2 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoWhat do they check at your 37 wk appointment and every week from there on?
UK answers only please as other countries differ!
I've read a lot of people saying their midwife says their dilated by so many cm's and their cervix is so many % effaced - do they check this at your weekly midwife appointment? And how do they check this?
2 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoHow many weeks were you when you gave birth to your first?
6 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoIf you had to have a cesarean for placenta previa when did they tell you the date for your section?
I'm 36 wks tomorrow and have a scan to check if it's moved anymore. If it still hasn't moved enough will they book me in for a c section or will they wait and do another scan at 37 or 38 weeks? Or later?
Also, how many weeks were you when you had your c section and how far from the cervix was your placenta?
1 AnswerPregnancy9 years agoHave you declined an ECV or not been able to have one?
Did they give you a date for a cesarean when you declined it or were told you couldn't have one or did they wait to see if the baby turned by itself?
PS - please don't give me your opinion on declining an ECV I've been advised by a consultant that I wouldn't be able to have one because I have a low lying placenta.
1 AnswerPregnancy9 years agoWhy has the front of my bump gone flat?
I was like a proper basketball shape until about an hour ago and my belly button was sticking right out but now it's not sticking out much. I'm 35 weeks. Is it just that the baby has changed positions?
3 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoHow many cm from your cervix does your placenta need to be for a VB?
I keep getting told totally different things - at my last hospital appointment they said 5cm, my friend who's a midwife said 3cm and an internet search said 2cm. Does it vary for each person? Or for each hospital? I'm in the UK so UK regulations only please - if you've had this can you say where abouts your from please so I can see if it's near me.
1 AnswerPregnancy9 years agoDid you have an instinct for which gender you were carrying?
And were you right?
7 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoWhat do you wear when you're having a cesarean?
Bit of a daft question, but I haven't got a clue. Do they put you in a gown? Do you have your underwear on?
2 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoWhat is classed as your lower uterine segment?
How many cm's up from the cervix?
Is it half of the uterus or is the uterus medically split into 3 or more?
3 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoIf you're given an elective c section for placenta previa or breech baby can you choose your date?
In the UK!
I don't mean choose date completely but do they say 'you need one at 38 weeks' for example and then let you say 'i'll have it on the tuesday' or do they just give you the date?
1 AnswerPregnancy9 years agoWhat are the current guidelines in UK for a c section due to a breech baby?
When do they advise it should be done? What happens if you go into labour - do they do an emergency c section?
