We are trying to do the diet coke and mentos rocket experiment where you throw it at the ground and it launches into the air. We tried and could not get it to work, so I need to know what we are doing wrong and how we can make it work.

Here is what we did: we took a diet coke 2 liter bottle, dropped a pack or half a pack of mentos in, screwed the cap on, and threw it at the ground. The bottles would either bounce or break at the bottom, letting all the coke out there. What are we doing wrong? Do you have to open the cap? Most of the soda ends up coming out the bottom of the bottle. Is there a certain way to throw it at the ground?

Any info would be great. I've watched all of the videos but we still can't get it to work.

I'm looking for a subwoofer for my car. What is the best one to get that is at either Circuit City or Best Buy? I like to hear them before purchasing. Plus, BB will pricematch.

I'm looking for the best for not too much money. Say around $200 or lower for the sub itself.

Also, could you recommend a box for it? I'm new to car audio and don't know too much about it yet.

So I'm looking to buy a sub for my car. I don't want to spend too much, but saw the Sony Dual 12" Subwoofers in Ported Enclosure on Circuit City and they are a great price. They also get great reviews. However, on the internet it seem that people hate these speakers.

So I want to know why the people who bought them love and rave them while other people say they are garbage.

If you don't like these, could you suggest different subs? I don't want to spend much more than $200 on a sub. I'm not looking to have sub battles, just nice bass that can be heard and I can brag about.

Also, if you have heard them, tell me why you do or dont like them. Don't just comment something like "they stink".

What is the difference between the Now that's what I call music! Series that is only up to NOW 27, and this NOW series which is on 69? Are they the same company? I heard that the 69 one is from a British company. Are they linked?

Also, are all of the NOW CDS (the ones with the 69, 68, etc) edited like the now 27 ones? Are they all radio and clean edits?

Does rhapsody unlimited music have clean edits for all songs? Or a filter so explicit songs will never be displayed or showed? I never want an explicit song downloaded because I play many out loud a lot. They all need to be clean. Thanks!

Hi, I just got my own car (my parents got a new one, I got theirs). its a 2001 toyota rav4. I am not too familiar with the technical stuff of cars. I am going to do some interior work on it but want it to last a long time (my parents dont maintain cars too well). I was wondering if theres a guide out there to teach how to maintain a car the best way (oil changes, tires, etc). Not just the basics, but everything to make it last a long time (some talk about getting 300,000 miles with this car). I want it to last that long. what can I do by myself to maintenance it? any guides are welcome as well. Thanks!

My computer makes grinding noises when I start it up, and on and off while use. It works for about 20 minutes after sitting for a day, but after that it either freezes (stops everything, cant even move mouse) or the screen will go blank. After this, the computer will work for about a minute before this happens again. So the grinding has to be hardware. I'm thinking video card but not sure? Any advice? Also, any programs I can run on it while it works to find out what hardware is bad? What place do you recommend taking it to? (best buy, circuit city, etc?). Other than this it works great. No viruses causing this. Even windows pops up and says hardware has malfunctioned. Thanks for the help!

(Running XP Home, SP2, had kaspersky until we did a system restore to try and fix this. Has upgraded graphics card from integrated to ati radeon. computer is about 5 years old but works great besides this, 1.5 gb ram.)

I currently have Norton Internet Security 2007, and it will expire soon. I have read very good things about Kaspersky Internet Security 7, and have tried it on a different computer. Do you think I should renew Norton 2007, go to norton 2008, or to Kaspersky 7? I like suites, and personally think that the programs you pay for work better than the free firewalls and those type things. What do you recommend?

I want to get my mom a digital camera. She does not do technology very well. What is the best digital camera in your opinion for someone who just wants to take pics then go to walmart to print them? I would like a good camera, under $150. I am pretty tech savy so I can do the computer stuff with it. She will basically just be taking pics then taking the memory card to walmart. I am upgrading from Comcast High Speed Internet to Verizon FiOS. My currents comcast speed is 6/2mbs, and using an online speed tester was 10185 kb/s download and 1432 kb/s upload. FiOS is 15/2. How will this affect websurfing and xbox live? Does FiOS work well with xbox live?

Also, supposedly a wireless router and modem combination is included. Can I use my current wireless router (not modem) and turn off the wireless from theirs?

And last, I am also switching from Digital Cable from Comcast to FiOS tv. How does the tv quality compare with HD? Thanks

Hi, I currently have a Belkin Pre-N Wireless Router. I'm looking to buy a new wireless router because this one drops out at times and does not work well with my xbox 360. I am fairly tech savy and have port forwarded and allowed plug and play for my xbox, even set it outside the firewall. It worked for awhile, then the router felt like chaning around. So my NAT on my xbox is no longer open, yet the things I had changed on the router are still the same.

I have seen a lot of good reviews on the D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router. Anyone have this? Any comments on it? Supposedly it works great with xbox live. I have the xbox 360 wireless adapter. Not sure if i should wait until this is proved N and not draft.

Also, it has a usb port on the back, and I thought i would be able to connect an external hard drive and/or priter to share over the network, but have read you cannot do this? Is this true? Want to use the external for storage and backups.
