I want to use my new sewing machine to make a quilt to test out many of its capabilities, but can't seem to choose between these two free patterns I found online:

I have found a Pfaff 1035 Tipmatic from 1985 that is in mint condition with tons of extra and in an area where I can pick it up that I would like to purchase. Not sure how much it is worth to know if the seller is asking a reasonable price or not, and I can't seem to find any forums or reviews that can help. It also comes with a 1 year warranty.

I need a machine ASAP (have a business and if I don't sew I lose money in sales) and have access to both the Pfaff 1171 and the Pfaff 1035 Tipmatic sewing machines.

I am not sure what these machines should sell for at a used price, additionally choosing between them is rather difficult at the moment. These are all older machines. The newest one was made sometime around 1985.

There is a seller close to me where I could have a Pfaff 1035 with ALL accessories for $350, and I could pick it up this weekend.

OR I could get a 1035 for about $250 in about a week or two with only a few of the accessories available, however the machine is in mint condition and some of the accessories are still available for purchase.

The Pfaff 1171 I would have to wait about a week or two to receive, and would end up paying about $400 including shipping and one of the sewing feet I need. It does not come with a case or several other accessories that I would need to purchase.

I am getting a machine with tons of options in June, so I mostly need a machine that can get me through from now till June and act as a back up.

What do you use to soak your cloth pads in so that little ones cannot get into them (since they are the dirty ones and are in a soaking solution?). I keep my clean ones in various wetbags in a plastic shoe box style box, and need something discreet yet childproof for the dirty ones.

I am cooking for a church event and making dip for fruit. On the top of jars that I purchased TODAY there is the date Dec 10, 2007 followed by an X. Is this the date it was made or the date it expires on??

I have a few jars by a different company and the date on the lid appears to be an expiry date, but that brand is manufactured in a different country so is most likely not an idicator.

Should I use it or not? Does Fluff Expire??

My husband and I have been married for 4 yeras. In order to be together I gave up everything, friends family, language etc to move to his country. I have done all I can to make him happy and still feel like I just can't.

On Monday I had a very bad day. I was sick, and very stressed out. I didn't make dinner or do the dishes. When he got home I explained he'd need to feed himself.

It started out fine. He made dinner and even went to the store.

But then he started doing something that was very bothersome to me. I asked him to stop and come spend time with me. He refused and told me that I should "deal with it". What he was doing made me feel inadequate, and I really wanted him to stop and come spend time with me. By not doing that he expressed to me that he didn't love me which made me even more depressed.

I expressed to him this morning that his behavior had deeply hurt me. His reaction was to slam the door and leave withou talking to me.

So what do I do now?

My husband and 2 daughters (1 and 3) moved into a new apartment. I didn't want to move here but wasn't given a choice after a recent tragedy. Our neighbors are complaining about our noise level after 8 pm, yet they are very loud at 5am & have other rude behaviors that we do not complain about. I do not use noisey appliances after 9pm. My TV volume is so low that I have to use subtitles (out of over 50 volume settings to go up to, I keep our TV below the #10 setting). Subtitles are rough for me b/c I'm dyslexic and can't keep up with the screen. I can't stop walking in and out of my room b/c I have young children to care for. My husband works until late at night and has to be able to enter our home. I'm a tiny woman (83 lbs) and I wear slippers so I do not believe that I am waking them or their son up with my personal habits. I need a better quality of life for my family ~ HELP! I am willing to be a "good" neighbor if the requests are reasonable... I'm just so frustrated :(
