Why are answers censored for their "offensive" content?

Yes, I am fully aware that the Yahoo answer site is an open forum and that answers based on life experience are adequate in most cases, even though these experiences often are radically different from the content of the question. I am certain that all participants try their best to write honestly, sometimes in a way that might even offend the questioner. There can not be any other way to support this site.
May I therefore suggest that offense should not be taken when a responder offers a blunt solution that, even though it may sound offensive, is no more than an honest and realistic answer to the problem presented!
