This Guys Sez

My car makes a hissing noise when I'm at a stop with no tension on the steering wheel. If I apply any tension to the steering wheel (turn it even slightly left or right) the noise goes away completely. What would be causing this? Is it just a nuisance or something more serious?

The car is a 2003 Infiniti FX45.

I have a 2003 Infiniti FX45 with factory tint on all rear windows. I'd like to have the front 2 windows tinted to match. I want the best quality tint and the best installers. How much should I expect to pay?

I'm hoping someone who knows about Baby Jogger strollers can answer this for me. Does the stroller in the below Craigslist ad fold up? What else can you tell me about it? Ten points to the best answer!

I bought my house in 2006 with no money down for 350k. It's now worth maybe 300k, and I owe 330k. The house probably needs 10k of work (new paint, etc) before putting on the market.

I want to get out as soon as possible. The neighborhood has gotten much worse, not better, in the 4 years since my wife and I moved in. We also have a new baby in the house, and we don't feel it's a safe environment anymore (another drive-by shooting 3 blocks away, drug dealers across the street, and violence every night within a 1 mile radius).

What can we do? We have made every payment on time and have excellent credit. We would be glad to rent for a few years if necessary. Our income is fine, house is in pretty good shape. Is a short sale our only option? I don't want to eat 40k to get out unless I have to.

Please help! I'd like to hear any and all suggestions.

Hi internet dwellers. It's May 2010 and I'm considering the purchase of a used, 2003 Infiniti FX45 with the Premium package.. The dealer has offered $19.5k, but I'm planning to pay $19k. It has 71k miles and is in excellent condition, inside and out. The Carfax is clean. Runs and drives great. I'm married with a 6-month-old son, planning for another in a couple of years. I'm hoping to buy this car and drive it until it won't go.

My question to the world is, would you buy this car? Why or why not?

I should add, I'm also looking at a 2005 Honda Pilot EX-L, also with 71k miles, for around $18.5k. It's a sensible car and very comfortable but doesn't excite me the way the FX does.
