  • Need to cover bad breakout?

I am 14 weeks pregnant and my face has been breaking out like a 16 yr old on her prom night. I’ve had pimples that wont go away for 3-4 weeks and then leave big marks. Its terrible. Its very hard to control because there is plenty of products that I am unable to use, but I did get the name of some approved products to order. However my questions it, its Christmas and I really want to get a family picture done. There is no way I can do it looking the way I do. Is there a way to hide at least until I get those products and they start working? Any tips would be really helpful

  • My 2 1/2 yr old son hits other kids at day care?

My son is 2 1/2 yrs old. He recently started a habit of hitting. Sometimes he does it just as part of him playing, but other times he does it when he is not happy with something so he would throw his toy at someone or just hit. My husband and I keep on trying different things to get him to stop it. It’s been getting worse lately at day care and he does it there at a lot more than he does at home. We explain that it hurts others, he will have no friends, time out, standing in the corner, I even told his sitter to follow the same. That works sometimes but we still have bad days. I’ve also tried taking things away from him every time he hits. No swimming classes which he loves so much , no park that day …etc. I honestly ran out of ideas. I don’t know what else to try. He is an only child, so he is always around adults, but we are very careful. No violent movies, no video games, and there is definitely no violence at our home. I know he is only 2 ½ but he is smart and he understands a lot, but sometimes I wonder if we over estimate him and he just doesn’t understand how bad it is. HELP.

  • How can I show more affection?

My husband recently informed that the issues we have been having are all due to the fact that I am cold. I don’t show him affection. I don’t enforce his manhood, not in a sexual manner, but rather that I am very independent and do things on my own without asking him for help. Almost as if I have boundaries around everything so he cannot enter my circle. I am totally lost. I grew up in a perfectly fine family, but my parents (my mom to be specific) didn’t show a lot of affection or emotions and so I am not used to this. We have a child and he says I am very affectionate towards our son, but not towards him. I honestly don’t even know what that means. He works the night ****, so I send him msgs before I got to bed and during the day telling him I love him. He says it’s just my style of saying/ doing things even though I am a very good wife, I just don’t know how to show it. All of you affectionate ppl out there, help. I don’t know what I am supposed to do.

  • What should I be looking for when buying an older house?

My husband and I are in the process of house hunting. This is in Central NY. So far the search has been depressing, but we cam across a home last week that we fell in love with. Nice lay out , large enough and within our price range. The house however was built in 1855. Talk about OLD. In CNY though, this is not uncommon. New siding however new plumbing new electric wiring, remodeling …etc. We will for sure have our own inspection, Radon, Asbestos, lead …etc. Its also septic system so will have that inspected to the fullest. My questions is , is this too old even for CNY, and what else should I be looking for?

  • I am not sure how to be a more patient mom. Help.?

I have flipped out on my 2 yr. old son today and I feel terrible about it. It’s not like I hit him or anything like that, but I did yell at him. He is at that age where he cries and whines about every little thing, from wanting to watch his favorite movie 5 times a day to waiting our cell phones/ laptop, or eating his meal. I mean every little thing. To top it off, he had a fever for 3 days now, which meant I came home from work Thursday to a lecture from my husband how I didn’t care about my child and that’s why I didn’t come home right away (try to explain to a grown man that you can’t just decline meetings with 2 VPS when my pay check is the one we totally rely on, and all I asked if him is to give him Motrin and try and keep him cool until I get home) , so we’ve been home since Thursday and haven’t left the house. All I have done is do dishes, clean, do laundry and take care of my son. My husband works nights so he sleeps during the day and I don’t get much help on the weekends. This happened a couple of weeks ago also. I am in a new position at work, where I am trying to figure things out still, while maintaining a decent productive role. We are in the middle of searching to buy a house, which makes keeping my job just that much more important. We pretty much have no friends, no life. All we do is work, and if we go out on my husband’s day off it’s to grocery shop or something like that. We can’t afford much to do anything else, even a pizza once a month kind of puts us behind. My husband’s schedule makes for a really difficult routine, because we can’t just go to the park on a nice afternoon or anything like that. My weekends as I stated I spend cleaning, doing laundry and cooking. I can’t even go for a run when I want to and my son is a pretty hyper child, so by the time he goes to sleep, I just want to lie on the couch and take a break. I am not trying to make excuses, but I am overwhelmed with everything, including the routine and I HATE myself for taking it out on my son like that. I just don’t know what I can do to better myself as a mom and my reactions.

  • Not sure if the following can be Dx into something mentally serious ?

I have a 24 yr. old brother who is the youngest of 4 (2 boys and 2 girls). This kid has the mentality of a 14 yr. old. It’s always been this way. He is the only one of us who has not done good for himself. Barley graduated high school. Been through many jobs, all of which are minimum wage with no future. He is now unemployed again and has been for about 6 months. We live in a pretty small city and Jobs are hard to find as is, let alone when you have no degree or skill. He is dragging his feet on getting his driver’s license as well which makes things even harder. He’s always had a hard time focusing in school and he can never hold a coherent conversation. He just jumps from one subject to the next and has a different plan every day that he shared with everyone he meets and none of it gets done. He was the type of kid who asked a million questions during a one hour movie. Very social guy, and therefore most of his time is spent partying, but everyone who meets him on every level of society loves him. This is the way he has been since he was 16. We were never raised this way, and here my parents raised 3 good and successful kids, but I do believe my mom has reached her end with him. She just doesn’t know what do any more, especially since my father passed away, and she had her own issues to deal with. I think she is at a point where she figures as long as he is out of trouble, one day he will find his way. He was tested when he was in school for ADD and the Dr. said no. I have a hard time believing that, and since they never cared to start with, and enrolled him in a vocational program, even though they indicated he had no learning disabilities. They just didn’t want to spend the time working with him. He has an extremely bad temper, and thinks the whole world is against him. Anything we say he thinks is offensive even of the purpose of it is to help him out. He also has had episodes of depression a couple of times. He would never agree to go see a psychiatrist, because he repeated a few times that he knows we all think there is something wrong with him. He lies all the time and I just want to help him out and don’t know what to do with him anymore. I attempted to have a conversation with him 2 days that blew up, so I am really lost now. He has pride, so he refuses to take money from anyone, and refuses any government help, so there is a good side to him. Also he is the type of guy who pours his heart and soul into a job if he has one, but is also so naive that he is forever taken advantage of. Help. I am not a psychiatrists so it’s not like I can diagnose him and I tried everything as a sister. He also smoked pot in the past, and although he stopped for almost a year,I can only imagine partying all the time, I am sure he comes across ome here and there and uses it

  • My 26 month old son's eating habits?

My 26 month old son gives me such a hard time eating. He sometimes would eat great , and different meals during the day along with healthy snacks...etc but more often, its a battle to get two bits in. I know at this age, they refuse to sit their little butt down, but I also thought that's when they form their eating habits. I make him sit at the table with us, even if he is not eating just to get him in the habit of eating dinner at certain times, but a lot of times, I also find we are bribing the heck out of him to get him to eat his meal (something we swore we would not do before having him :)) so we play his favorit songs on line or watch his favorit shows/ movies while eating dinner. It just worries me that he is not getting everything he needs, even though his Dr says his weight is within the "25th percentile" so nothing for me to worry about. Any advice?

  • When should I start worrying and see my Dr for no successful pregnancy attempt?

We have a 26 month old beautiful boy, whom I got pregnant with a month after we were married and while I was on the pill. We have been trying since Aug 2010 to have another baby. I got pregnant in Oct but had a miscarriage in Nov. I was told to wait a month and try again, and so we have been trying since Jan. Is is too soon to discuss with my Dr to check if something is wrong?

  • Fever in 17 month old child?

I posted this question a few days ago and got some really good answers that calmed me down a little. However my son started this fever on Sat .. Monday his Dr advised he had an ear infection.. ok common ... this is however his first ear infection at 17 months and i don't know if it makes a difference, but here we are Wed and fever still goes up to 104 during the day and every night. He started the antibiotic on Monday and I am giving him Motrin to bring the fever down.. but he wakes up burning up at night for 4 nights in a row now. What is going on .. can an simple ear infection really do that? I am worried there is more to it, but his Dr states it takes 48-72 hrs for the meds to start working anyway so its not uncommon not to see change before that ... REALLY?

  • fever in 17 month old child?

my 17 month old has been running a fever between 100-103 for 2 days now. All day yesterday I attempted the store brand for Tylenol and it would come down for an hour or so and then back up. Took him to the ER where they gave him Motrin and it went down. By the time a Dr got around to seeing him 3 hrs later, it was past his bed time, tired, cranky and fever starting again we had to hold him down for a physical exam, so we couldn't do any blood work/. urine...etc. I asked the Dr to at least check for strep which came back negative. We were up every 2 hrs through the night with fever and this morning i started prescription Motrin every 6 hrs and baths. The fever goes down for a few hours and then back up again. Vomited once at night but since he didn't have to eat the day before there was nothing to vomit. I am trying to give him as much clear liquids as possible. Took half a glass of milk and has some apple sauce and mashed potato to eat and that's all I can get him o eat. I am freaking out at this point. When I called his Ped. a few hours ago he advised I'm doing everything right and that's normal and common and to bring him tomorrow if the fever cont's ... okkkkkk .. what do I between now and tomorrow.. I'm FREAKING out and I don't know what else I can do . HELP

  • Can I access my property to install the CO2 detector while tenant is not home?

This tenant is a pathological liar .. one excuse after the next and avoids at all cost being home when I have given her notices that I would like to come to the apartment and inspect and install the CO2 detector as I am required to by law. She never calls me to tell me she will not be home when she agreed she would. Her last excuse is that my notice in writing to her was 22 hrs rather than 24 hours.. she has not paid rent in 2 months and is like a blood sucking worm that just wont go away.. wont pay wont leave wont answer the door.. I am really worried about what the condition of my apartment is now, and I really need to install this damn detectors as the law in NY state now requires landlord to .. Can I access the place if I leave her ANOTHER written notice and she AGAIN just leaves? I am worried because she is the type that would accuse me of something crazy .. plus the background she comes form is not too reassuring now that I see the type of ppl she brings home..

  • Do you think this is odd?

The girl living upstairs from me leads what may seem to the normal person as a depressed life style (not judging just saying). I already know she creates one lie after the next that she cant even remember what the first lie was (she hasn't paid rent in a month and has more excuses than a 1st graded with no homework). In any case, she doesn't have a TV, Internet , or any other form of Entertainment. Ok great for an adult they may be into reading YA RIGHT. BUT, she also has 2 kids. a 2 year old and a 6 yr old. She sometimes is in her house for 4 or 5 days at a time , and doesn't get out in Between AT ALL. Those kids don't get to leave unless she leaves of course, and she doesn't even have a car (I live in a very small town with no public transportation and she totally is relying on this 24 yr old boy she is seeing with a busted car ). I hear them in the morning running, and that goes on for about 20 min and then it gets all quiet again. I mean dead quiet for hours, then running and hyper activities for 20 more min and then dead silent again. I have a 13 yr old and I know he doesn't stop moving an donly takes a npa or two a day, and that's what I would expect of the 2 yr old at least. As for her daughter, the 6 yr old, she claimed she moved her to this school district. I have only seen her take the bus once since they moved in... its been almost 2 months ... Does anyone else think this is odd? I swear she does something to those kids to make them sleep , since that all she does herself.

  • I need to get this person out of my house?

this girl is not sticking to any provision of the lease, and is pretty much staying here for free since i have yet to see rent and wont answer her door or her phone to talk or even to be served an eviction notice.. she is just stressing the life out of me , I am behind on bills and most likely mortgage next month ...and i dont know how to get her out of my house. I cant afford to pay an attorney and she is relying on legal aid to help her with attorney .. so ppl like me who actually work and pay taxes have no rights and get NO HELP.. she is gonna be the reason for my breakdown

  • What is the legal time frame I have to give someone with children in NYS to evict ?

This tenant is a piece of work. I am new to the whole renting out process and is only doing it because I need to pay the mortgage one way or another. Its a mess my parents left my husband and I with. Anyhow, I asked and was advised that since this girl has been giving me one excuse after the next and only her first month in the house she is late on rent (16 days now but she thinks its only tech 10 days as if that makes a diff) and doesnt look like she is planning on paying, that I can serve her with an eviction notice. I looked up a form on line and and used it and gave her 3 day to pay or leave clock starting today. She actually has the guts to txt me today... she said my notice was illegal , renters righst ppl with kids have 30 days to evict and she wants her security deposit back and I will be hearing from her attorney because she wants to go to court.. I said NP, plz have ur attorney call me today .. so now she will cost me $500 because I have to hire an attorney to evict her when I know if she cant afford to pay the rent she cant get an attorney ... I would be so embaressed if I were her I cant believe she actually told me that .. I cant believe there are ppl out there like that . This place is costing me more than when it was empty. Is this true about ppl with children ? and also I am really not doing this to be mean , but I am behind on bills because I was depending on that rent money and didnt budget for things otherwise, and I cant have someone living there for free ... so how long would this process normally take, while I continue providing a place for her to live and heating it up for her?

  • can I evict my tenant already?

We rented out our upstairs apartment about a month ago.Since this is our first time doing it, I did all my homework or at least thought I did. A few ppl contacted us, but this girl was in a rush as her landlord was selling the house and her contract was up, and she was looking to move into this town. She said it would only be her and her son. Looked clean and presentable, didn't mind giving me her SSN so I can run a background check on her, and no problem with first month's rent and security deposit. She completed an application and stated that she was divorced getting child support for her ex who in the military. She also stated at that point that she also has a daughter (fine by me but why not mention it before??), and that her BF would be staying over occasionally. In any case, she moved in after her background checked out. She was so impressed with how clean the place was? made me wonder where she lived b4. Anyway had NP with her since she moved in until the rent came due. Mind you this is the first month after she moved in. She told me the 2nd day that she is waiting for her child support and disability checks for the two weeks she was our of work for. Ok fine. I said np, we all go through hard times. I waited about a week b4 I asked her again, and again she gave me the whole I am still waiting excuse. Ok, another 5 days go by so now that's 2 weeks in, I contacted her and advised that now I am applying the late fee and she has to the 15th to pay. She gave me some story about how her ex was hurt in Afghanistan and they sent someone to her door to tell her that, and her disability checks were sent to the Old address and she is still waiting for them to come to this address. very very iffy story. I know those check are not coming from china so what the heck ? also , I wouldn't think that the military would be telling the Ex wife her Ex husband was hurt ? maybe I am wrong.. but. In any case, her BF has been staying here every night since she moved in but I have said nothing. Mind you , we don't rent because its such a luxury . We need the money and we paid over draft fees at the beginning of the month because the anticipated rent was not in the acc as it should have been . My husband thought something is not right about her all along, but I thought she showed no signs of anything crazy and her background checked out. So what she works part time.. must be the child support is good enough... clearly WHAT DO I KNOW. My questions is, on the 15th I would like to call an attorney and consider eviction.. any advice? is this even possible considering that its her first month? She hasn't even showed an attempt or put forth any effort to settle this and we honestly cant afford this. She is costing us more staying there than if the place was empty. She failed to switch some utilities to her name when she moved in and now we have a bill under our name when its really hers. She said she would pay it, but if she cant even pay the rent I am thinking we are stuck with that bill. An help is appreciated.

  • my son is now 8 months old not sleeping through the night?

he started sleeping through the night at 6 months (even through his teething period)... for a period of 3 weeks or so .. we thought thank god.. we'll get some sleep now.. however he later got sick , and we were up through the night again with his cough ...etc... he is now better and has been for over a month and a half, however he is up 6 times a night on average, not because he wants a bottle or needs to be changed.. he is up crying in his sleep .. i mean full blown crying and doesn't settle down until we pick him up and even then that may take a half hour or so ... then back to sleep and then up again.. that goes on every hour to 2 hrs... if he doesn't stop crying we usually have to wak up him, cz he has no idea he is crying in his sleep and once he opens his eyes he is fine and smiling, anyone went through this?
