Convert 5V power supply to 3V?
I want to convert a 5V power supply (from powered USB) to 3V, for a device drawing variable current. Can I make something to do this using simple circuit components?
Any ideas/hints you could give would be a great help.
1 AnswerOther - Hardware1 decade agoWhere is the best place to extract blood from?
I need to write a letter in my own blood (yes, seriously). It's not a very long letter, so I don't need much - just enough to suck up into my fountain pen. Obviously I don't want to bleed to death or do myself any serious or permanent injury. The only tool I have is a knife. Is there any way to do this safely?
4 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoHow do I approach solving this differential equation?
I have a differential equation of the form dy/dx + y^2 = 0
Anyone know whether it is possible to solve this, and if so, how?
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoHow do I make my succulent plant flower?
I have a succulent (Aloinopsis luckhoffii), which I keep inside on a south facing windowsill and water correctly. It is supposed to flower every year in March. In the 4/5 years I have had it, it has so far flowered only once, and that was a few years ago.
Is my plant unhappy or something? What will make it flower?
1 AnswerBotany1 decade agoWhen electron degeneracy pressure is overcome in white dwarfs...?
White dwarfs are held up by electron degeneracy pressure. I have been reading that when this is overcome, in some circumstances this causes electron capure and in other cases causes ignition of further fusion.
What decides which of these happens and why? What happens to all the elctrons in the second case?
Any light you could shed on this would be great, and sorry for the long question :S
