  • Synthetic Flat Top Mineral Foundation Brush - which one?

Hi, I lost my mineral foundation brush the other day & desperately need to buy a new one. The brush has to be synthetic/vegan friendly with a flat top as I find the flat top brushes buff on mmu much faster than the rounded ones. I'm in the UK. Thank you in advance. xx

  • Prescriptives Concealer Brush or Eye Paints Brush?

I'm in need of a new concealer brush and have had my eye on the one from Prescriptives but I notice they also do one to apply the eyepaints/cream eyeshadow. Is is worth buying both brushes or should I only buy one. Should I stick with the concealer brush, if so does this apply cream eyeshadow and vice-versa. So which one do people think I should go for.

  • Scratchy makeup brushes?

Hi, recently I washed my Trish McEvoy brushes in the usual way and with the usual makeup cleanser (Mac) but I now find that when I use them esp for powder & blusher they're very scratchy. Its got to the point I can't bear to use them but they're very expensive. I've only had them just over 3 years and my other brushes I've had for 5+ years are like the day I got them. Can someone tell if theres something I can use to make them become soft like they once were. Many thanks in advance.

  • Makeup Brushes made from animal hair - Does Islam allow this?

Ok, I'm a part-time makeup artist and in a few weeks I am doing a bridal makeover. This afternoon I went to visit the bride to be and got all my stuff out and when it came to putting on the makeup she wanted to know if the makeup & brushes contained any animal ingredients and were the brushes made of animal hair because according to her she wont allow any of my makeup or brushes near her unless its all vegetarian/vegan approved???? Ok I use synthetic brushes at home but their for my personal use, for professional use I have MAC which are the best but this lady is kicking up a fuss. What does Islam have to say about animal hair brushes? I mean their made of squirrel, pony hair. I'm thinking of cancelling this job even though I badly need the money.

  • Alternative to animal hair makeup brushes?

At the moment I have a mixture of brushes mainly by Trish McEvoy, Laura Mercier and MAC (all 3 use animal hairs) but have decided that I'd like to change over to synthetic brushes for ethical reasons. So which company would people recommend, bearing in mind I am in the UK and also possible websites I could order from. Ideally I'd like to get the Too Faced set as I've got their Flatbuki & Kabuki which are heavenly brushes - absolutely soft and the only ones as good as the Trish, Laura & Mac ones.

But I'm having no luck getting Too Faced brush set from anywhere in the UK so alternatives please. All I need is a powder brush, blusher & eyeshadow. No drugstore brushes plz or Bodyshop. Boycotting since L'oreal bought them out.

  • Too Faced Flatbuki Brush?

The flatbuki brush that comes with the Bronzed & The Beautiful bronzer set, is this the same size as the flatbuki that can be bought on its own? For those that don't know, the flatbuki is a kabuki brush but instead of being round its flat.

  • Yuroll - has anyone used this?

I really like the look of these! I know they are supposed to be good for lymph drainage and smoothing the skin especially under the eyes and neck, but I'm interested to know if they actually work. Or are they just another useless gimmick?

  • Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil - has the it changed?

Hi, the last pot of mineral veil i purchased lasted me around 18 months and was bought from Ebay. Anyway, i've purchased a new pot this week again from Ebay and the veil is sort of different colour more on the white side rather than with a pinky tint to it like my last pot and when i've applied it my skin is drying out and feels chalky. Have BE changed the formula at all? Can someone recommend a good loose powder as an alternative - bearing in mind i have dry skin. Many thanks.

  • Dull Throbbing Toothache?

I have had dull throbbing toothache since Monday after eating some grapes. Finally got to see the dentist today and he has prescribed Metronidazole as he thinks I have an infection. He also put some desensitising solution on my tooth as he thinks my teeth are sensitive and recommended I use Sensodyne Total Care toothpaste. But the dull throbbing pain is still there. Is it ok to take paracetamol or ibuprofen whilst taking antibiotics or can some recommend something else for the pain. Also am i ok to brush my teeth whilst the desensitising gel is on, will this get removed when i brush my teeth. thanks in advance.
