I'm having a tabletop RPG game running right now on a scenario freely inspired from the Movie "Dark City". I've tried to duplicate the ambiance for the players and so far everything has been working great! People keep their bodies but change lives with each session and must fight to keep memories from one incarnation to the other at the end of each session. (until one day one of them gets tuning abilities).

But last session, one player butched her roll to keep mental integrity.

I was planning to give her the mad amnesiac treatment, but watching back to the movie... I thought it was too soon to give away so much to a player. (Also, I did not included any P.Schreber for now,)

The player was first a cabaret signer, then a mute movie actress.

She has already been kidnaped by a catholic fanatic, raped in a blues band party, and survived the assault on a restaurant by "strangers" searching for one of their stolen seringes.

She is supposed to keep her mental imprint from the mute movie actress.

According to the movie, you are given lives to test your mental limits and individuality.

What should I build her life around knowing that :

1- She would still partly remember being a mute movie actress.

2- Her new life must feel wrong the worst possible way to her.

If you wake up and have no memory, just a faint impression that you got awake from the dream of a complete life. What may be the worst situation in which to wake up you could imagine?

Ok, I'm building a system for a tabletop RPG and we are currently trying to fit toghether the rules regarding medical skills. So... I'm searching for deffinite limits to use in trying to build a torture table accurate enough to satisfy mostly anyone.

My question would be about non-stop use of torture. (Except the pause inevitable to let sombody regain consciousness and be fit for a new sceance.)

I'm searching either for the person having endured the longest torture session (many seances) ever, the survivor of the longest human vivisection or simply the average hours of chirurgical torture that can be inflicted upon a human being of average constitution by a professionnal before the victim turns utterly mad and unable to speak, or die.

Any kind of torture used can serve your answer, as long as some applied medical skills are involved. The efficacity of the technique in use is of no consequences. The level of pain endured is of no consequences, except that I would prefer answer based on techniques that try to preserve the pain level to an average increase.

The most important requirement are the cumulative time of the application of the technique, it must be physical in some way, and should be easily tagged as a medical skill, even remotely connex.

I'm creating an RPG campaign based on car racing. I need to know the average number of person involved in a racing team during the race itself. This include the Pilot, but also how many mechanic there is and their different post, navigator, and other that may qualify as essential par of the team.

Your answer may concern Formula 1 or NASCAR, just precise which one you are referring to when describing the team. If you are most familiar with an other type of car racing (rallye for exemple) it could be of use too...

Ok, so I'm currently running a serenity campaign using the cortex system. (Yes that RPG has currently officially ceased to be produced, but it is still one of the best I found.)

I've been using the star cluster map of the 'verse named : Interstellar distance calculator. (Yes the blue one where Ariel's missing...) A few hours and relistening of Firefly has given me the info I needed to make the traveling time coherent after resizing this map as a giant poster.

But I still had a problem. The planet and subsystem are not moving on this map, thus, doing our RPG game session in our own ship, calculating traveling time pose me a problem for coherence. Of course, it is not much of a problem for most game masters, but I do calculate dates and time and all that stuff...

And my players tortures me with question concerning remaining oxygen and water, and also fuel...

So adding all this, I try to give them the realism they ask for.

I later found an other ducument, "The Verse in numbers". For thoses who already know what I'm talking of, I got the second update. This describes, but only by the numbers, all one may want to know about the 'verse. Which means I do not have only a map, but also a PDF telling me about rotation time and speed of each important space body...

I keep telling myself that there is probably a program out there that could help me use all this info to build a star map that could be changed acording to a date input. The Qmx distance calculator is in itself dated 2516, wich could help build a starting point for each body, using thier relative speed of rotation. (Also this 2516 is in itself a problem because we play in September of 2518 - something like 4 months after the movie and two years after the celestial bodies positions of this Map...)

If anybody has already attempted this before (complete moving map of the 'verse cannon with Qmx and "the verse in numbers".) please tell me where I can find the results.

If you know a program that could let me build something like this and that dosen't need from me a degree in astrophysics I'm interested.

Anything on iPad or PC could work.

I do not consider myself as a direct Wheddon fan, even if I found the Avenger enjoyable and really liked Dr.Horrible sing along's blog. (This mean I do not take anything Buffy as an answer.)

To be more precise I'm searching for something that would mix asian, space & western genre.

But, considering that Firefly and Serenity could be the only one available to mix the three of it, you can suggest something that only has two...

Also, there is a list of already seen that cannot be taken as an answer :

- Cowboy Bebopp. (Mostly related.)

- Trigun. (Totally related.)

- Sukiyaki Western Django (Could fit the two genre requirements.)

- The Good, The Bad & The Weird. (Except the title, this movie was pretty original... Could also fit the two genre requirements.)

But, being a fan of Space 1999 and sombody that could sit threw the whole original ''Lost in space'' you could go from anything since the invention of cinema and television threw modern days. (Otherly said, I do not care if the special effects are good.)

I'm also a fan of the original "Metropolis", so mute film can be named. (Even if I doubt there is one meeting precedent requirement.)

Finally, the answer could be a movie, a T.V. Series, or even a book!

But I would prefer no american comics as they are sometimes hard to find and long to buy...

I'm searching for the first movie my father brung my mother to.

It was their first date and he took her to a drive thru to see a Samurai movie.

The problem is : my father died when I was 2, and my mother did really hate that movie...

So along the years, she spoke many times of that first date, but she never remembered the title.

What I know :

It is a samurai movie that passed in theatre and drive thru of America by the end of the 80s.

The principal character had a blue kimono.

There is supposed to be a somewhat gruesome scene by the middle of the movie where a guy is burried in the sand and got his face eaten by ants.

At the end, most of the important characther dies.

It is supposed to be a movie about honor, how life sometimes force us to brake it and to live with our shame after.

There is also a good probability that it was mostly filmed with Japanese actors.

I know it isn't much, but I'm trying to find this movie since I was a Kid. I mostly found all of the other stuff that my father did like as favorite and found that our taste are mostly exactly the same, so knowing that he really did like that movie... Let's just say that even if he is not there so I can share it with him, I would really like to know what he knew.

Do you ever noticed that there is numerous people that will state they would do or that they want something, but that thier course of action is totally opposed to thier goals?

What is it with people that they can't simply admit what they want?

Would it be so harsh to accept that if you do nothing to change, maybe you want it to be this way?

Or is it simply too hard to do what you want to do?

And if you can't, why should you bother to be miserable about it without even trying?

It is like there is a lot of people that are confused about what they are and what they really want to achieve. Do you really think that if you could go in the past you could take a better decision? If you knew exactly what you knew at this point, and that you had the tool to understand how to do better, why didn't you just chose to take the best path then?

Don't we all choose what we taught was best at the time knowing what we did?

And if not, why there would be such person that could possibly not do what is best in thier opinion?

I do not have the link for it, but similar ressearch have been made in Canada and France with similar results. Are the Occidental people becoming dumber? Does we solwly as a species forget the use of philosophy, semantics and referential communication?

How can people that use the common language of a 12 year old of ten years ago can rule a contry that become progressively more complex in its depravation each years?

Or maybe they go simpler because they think the voters are idiots? Would you consider it our responsability to tell our leader to stop acting like we were dumb drones? Or are you ok with the fact that election contain less and less detail about what they are going to do, and more and more details about who you shouldn't vote for : "because they are not cool"?

Ok, so I asked a question sometimes ago about where did all the love go and why my life was an undeciferable mess. I obtain with a scarce majority that I may have not been searching for the right kind of persons, but that I was right to beleive in love and in enduring relationship. That, I may go with... but still there is another question. What kind of girl should I look for?

I am a white mâle (shame on me), 22 years old, sci-fi writer, chroniquler, with a movie making formation and autodidact in picture design.

I strongly beleive that love is somethig that is built over time and not only something that fall from the sky. Thus, wedding and familly are important value to me.

I have heard that I should search for more conservatives women, but that dosen't seem the right thing to do considering that I am not yet published and that I roll low on money. (But I got no debt...) And also the fact that I may be a little bit too socialist for what we consider as conservative here in canada.

I am prepared to convert myself to any religion that I can understand as making sense if it is important for the girl I find, but will not force anybody to embrace my own beleif system.

I also have a strong sense of comunity and like to live with many people. This could be changed if I finally found somebody that seems willing and decided enough.

I don't do drugs, in fact i depsise them. For my brain is my first tool of work and I like to keep it sharp as I can.

Also, I'm now under trial for a failed attemps to help my country and apply the act of good citizenship by doing ressearch on rapist psychiatry to write a book that would ring a bell in future rapist's head. This may complicate things for some years but it is not irreversible as I have also other project that I prefer to continue.

Would you date somebody like that? Or I am just too much of anything at the same time to say that there is a "kind'' of women I should be searching for?

How would you think of someone who had 8 serious relationships, but none working for more than 3 years and none less than 3 months?

Is this a guy who should continue his search for love, or is this a guy who should just get the idea and stop staling girls out of others arms?

Seriously, it is something I encountered in my love experience, but relation and people in general tend to have a hard time to stick to themselves when summer or winter comes.

This year I feel surrounded again by this madness.

I see couple broking around me, and those who stay togheter choose this particular time of year to open their bag-o-dispute. Even single person seems suddenly crazy and are ready to anything just for a f...

Do people around me are acting a little but too much like animals or do you find yourself in a similar context?

I've been raised by my mother and grand mother. Believing that you have to be a good man and know many thing to find love. Have good grades, know how to repair you clothes and how to be a cook. Keeping everything tidy. In the end, I was only 4 when I decided that my priority in life would be to find a good wife with whom I could in my turn have children and that this person would be the reason I would live for...

I thought I had found this precious princess 8 times. The time I was the closest, I think, she died in the burning of her house...

So now number 8 just left. I thought of letting go the simple idea of building a family before her, but now it tortures me again. And I'm left with a fool impression that there is no girl like I was supposed to find anywhere that isn't already taken.

I met more men than women in my life that believed in love. More women bragging about thier sex life than any men would even want to. I've tried to be good, tried to be bad... It just seems that nothing work. Even by being myself then they just say they leave and that it's not my fault. So what?

Why do they all say to you : "I hope you'll find" when they do not propose. Why do they leave hoping for you a dream that you know don't exist for running after thier own deception? What did happened to women for they now think that threesome is supposed to be alright and that all men should have a powerfull libido?

Wasn't love supposed to be about what we build and what we promised each other?

Is this faith in love disappeared as I was learning it?
